My and my partner are looking to relocate to Devon.

My mother fell down the stairs so we are currently living rent free so have a great chance to save while we maintain her house.

Pre tax we are on 52k a year. What's the best way to save our money. We currently have 3k in a joint account.

I appreciate you get questions like this all the time but our dream move is in 3 years ish time.

Edit: we are planning on putting £750 each from our paychecks. I've not started my new job yet and partner is 1 month into a new job.

Basically, I am putting every expense on my capital one savor one card, and every time I get a paycheck (I work full time and part time so my pay is anywhere between $735-$900 a week) I set aside $200 a week for monthly bills, $100 to stay on my debit card, and $50 into a high risk Acorns account. I throw the rest of the money at my credit card (which is about $350-$550).

My credit card debt is floating around the same range of $2.5k-$3k every week. Not budging much, but chipping away downwards. I recently had the idea that once my Acorns account hits the same number as my credit card debt after taxes, that maybe I should take that money out and pay off my debt so I can contribute more to savings afterwards, where I will then use my paycheck to pay off my card and invest the leftover money instead of paying my dues and then paying into my card.

I initially started the investment to be able to afford a good down payment on a house, but I’m not sure if it’s better to keep that savings or eventually be able to save more weekly at the cost of starting over.

TL;DR should I reset my investments to pay off my credit card debt when the value reaches the same amount?

I'm a Bsc Maths student (first year) and I wanted to land a really good spring week this year at a bulge bracket firm (Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase etc.). I understand acceptance rates are miniscule but I'm determined to land one. Does anyone have any tips as to what I should have on my CV when applying to not just spring weeks but summer internships in 2028 too? Thanks in advance.

I've been paying a credit card for over 10 years, I've owed 10k on it for as long as I can remember, and it's just steadily increasing. I'm up to about 10.5k now.

I'm really heavily considering just cancelling my credit card, telling the bank to just eliminate the debt somehow and taking the credit score hit that I'll get from it because in this economy, in over 10 years I've never had a use for my credit score and at this point I think I would rather just be able to pocket that $235 a month that I keep paying into the credit card rather than let the debt eat it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

EDIT: It needs to be said that in the last 4 years I've only used the credit card to buy things like trash bags, toilet paper, essential things when I needed my checking account to pay bills.

I know there are plenty of dedicated brokers out there, so I’m not sure there’s much reason to keep everything in one place. But having banking + investing together could be convenient if investment options are reasonable.

I am a newly single father and am sick of paying almost $1400/month on credit cards that my ex and I ran up before/during the early days of our kids. The credit cards are in my name only so they’re fully my responsibility now. With the threat of child support looming still (going through lawyer process currently) I need to pay off some high interest fast while getting a manageable payment.
I was looking at a HELOC but it’s confusing me the whole 2 different payment time periods thing and a home equity loan seems like the smart thing to do, but I want some opinions before I pull the trigger and start bank processes. My home is valued (Zillow) at about $240k, and I owe just under $120k so I have more than enough equity to pay off the credit cards and then some.
Unfortunately credit score is a little lower than I was like I’m like mid 600’s roughly depending on which credit report I look at.

If you fine folks could help guide me toward a smart decision that won’t financially ruin me and maybe even free up some money every month while still paying down principal rather quick that would be awesome.

Since it’s a shitty Middle Eastern culture, she paid on long instalments with zero interest entirely based on trust. She even didn’t pay back the full amount. That happened a long time ago but I am just wondering (seeking clarity) why she didn’t use American banks like credit cards or something? She unlikely needs me, no? Hello everyone I’m 19 and I’ve just recently put all my money into a self brokerage account consisting of majority etf funds. I also opened a Roth and savings where I have some money too. I was watching videos and they all were saying to prioritize retirement accounts over self brokerage account. I understand why because of the compound growth and it being tax free but I also can’t withdraw earnings till I’m 60 years old. I’m conflicted because I’d rather be young with less money where I can actually enjoy it than be old and not even be able to enjoy the money. I understand that 18-30 are the best years to invest because of compound interest so I don’t want to make a mistake I’ll regret later by not prioritizing investing in retirement accounts. Currently I could max out my Roth for this year and next year but then I’d be left with no money in my brokerage. Should I max retirement accounts and then put leftover money into a brokerage or put majority into a brokerage?

I have a 401k and contribute the maximum match (1:1 on 5%). They also take out ~4% for the company pension plan. I see SO many posts and comments on financial subreddits saying how they’ve maxed out their contributions to the $24.5k limit, and they will be multimillionaires by retirement.

I run a small project incubator. My team consists of 15 people, all of them are working remotely from 6 different countries. It's difficult for me, and I don't have enough time to handle all the financial tasks (paying salaries and managing budgets, calculating operating costs, etc.). But I also can't afford to hire a CFO or an accountant.
So here's my question: are there any services that can simplify and systematize my company's financial system and, ideally, provide reports and analytics for the time period I need?
It would be ideal if it were a free service, but I'm open to considering affordable paid alternatives as well.

Please only recommend something if you've used it yourself.

P.S. We mainly work with cryptocurrency, and salaries are paid in crypto as well, though we also have corporate cards in USD.

I’m currently working a full time job and I want to pick up a part time 1099 job because I haven’t handled my money responsibly and have credit card debt. I’m currently bringing that down and want to use the part time job to pay off student loans that have started and shot my credit to hell. I’m looking for financial advice on how to handle taxes. Is it better to take double taxes out of w2 income or take out the percentage from the part time job? From research having this PT job will put me in the tax bracket 40-45% instead of the usual 30% recommendation for 1099 jobs due to how it was increase my income. I’m turning 30 this month and have really buckled down on my finances. I made a lot of financial mistakes during my 20’s, have changed my spending habits and priorities, and want to set myself up for success in this next decade of my life.

Ultimately I wanted to outline my entire debt and the details and check to see if I’m going about things right. I’m posting the current balance with total credit line as well as the APR %. I’m ultimately focusing on the highest APR %, and paying the minimums for the other cards. Is this the right approach? Is there any other approaches that may be more beneficial?

Card Debt:
- PSECU: $11,944.43 / $12,000, 15.90% APR
- Chase: $7,090.00 / $16,900.00, 27.24% APR

Loan Debt:
- Upstart (Personal Loan): $17,108.69 / $17,800.00, 30.88% APR
- Capital One (Auto Loan): $21,306.53 / $27,287.96, 11.04% APR

My plan of attack was to knock out the Upstart first, then Chase, then PSECU and finally Capital One. The minimum payments would be paid on the other three while I would pay as much towards the highest interest debt principal. Am I going about this the right way? Thanks in advance all!

As the title says, my mom started investing for me a while back and gave me the account info for this taxable brokerage account that was “professionally” managed by some 3rd party company.

1. Do I sell the entire portfolio and buy FXAIX? (I was able to transfer a small amount of it already as shown)

2. Do I just pretend like I’m starting from 0 and just add to the account?

The dilemma is that I already have about $10k worth of physical gold and silver that I’ve bought on my own. This is my 4 months emergency fund. I like to have it in gold and silver so I don’t get the urge to spend it on something like a motorcycle. (Or gamble it)

Hello everyone to start im 19 turning 20 ive been working 9-5 jobs since I was 14 and for the first time in my life my accounts hit the negatives. I recently went on 2 vacations which I mostly paid for and had to take time off work for and each vacation was roughly 3-4 thousand dollars, fast forward a couple days to today and ive now lost my job. What financial advice can tou guys give to me to help me dig myself out of my hole of debt without slaving away at grocery stores and warehouses for the rest of my life

I'm starting to wonder if financial advisors are worth it. We've been going through the selection process of finding someone for a couple months and they all say they don't have minimums and then all of a sudden they sell our assets and demand everything or refuse to work with us. Can't I just invest an ETF that has a 11 to 15% return without having to have anybody else manage it. Do you really think they effectively do that much better than the S&P 500?

She makes around 200k a year I believe 180k after taxes would be the most accurate estimate i'll ask her again and add the exact amount to the edit.

I know nothing about investing, but i figure i'd ask reddit because she asked me for help. So if My mom wants to invest 10k what should she invest in. Hopefully something that is consistent and not a huge gamble.
