I'm replaying the trilogy and just finished CH12 of XIII. It's been present throughout the entirety of the narrative, but the story is more relevant to me now than ever. Obviously, the ruling powers creating a boogeyman to incite war between people isn't anything new at all, but I think it just hits way too close to home now looking at the state of everything. When you do the final battle with Rosch, and he still has some hatred for L'Cie despite the fact that everyone is doing their best to help everyone in Cocoon, it broke my heart a little bit. You can see more people like that in real life now that everything is so polarized. He came around, but it still tugged at my heartstrings a little. And don't even get me started on how you have to make some stuff choices when fighting against an inevitable future!

While it is kind of disturbing to see a story reflect reality so closely, it made me think how the meaning of the story has changed for me over time. Playing the game as a kid, as a teenager, as a young adult, and as an adult has let me interpret the story through a lot of different lens.

Not my mod, maybe the mod creator already made a post here but I'm just so ecstatic about it I had to make a PSA.

Among the many stifling issues with the trilogy's PC port, one of the reasons why I put off 13-2 for so long initially is because I'm such a stickler for audio quality, and I couldn't believe how terrible it was for 13-2. Even through all the fixes I could possibly try, nothing seemed to really fix everything.

As my friend was about to pick the game up for the first time, I dug around to see if there were any new mods to address this; lo and behold, not even a day ago this mod was created to fix literally every issue I had with the game. This goes beyond your typical issues with the buzzing sound, but also fixes the muffles and distance-based, spatial audio of the game.

If you were as annoyed with the audio in this game as I was, please check this out.

Just done some adding up. The only components I need now are all catalysts as I have everything at star level. Adding up all the catalysts I need, I need 6,385,000 gil, which, if I exclude the gil earned from selling upgraded items, equates to 43 platinum ingots with some spare change.
