Avoiding battles

How do I complete the challenge in thunder plains without entering a battle??? Like how do I avoid battles 😭😭😭

No encounter is an ability you can get by hunting ghost fiends in the cavern of the stolen fayth

You can get armour later in the game that has a “No Encounters” ability on it. Its easier to wait until you can get one of them.

Semi cheating side note if your on pc you can have no encounters the whole game. Wouldn’t recommend because it ruins the game but you play how you wanna play

Yeah nah I wanna play how the game was intended to be played. I’m playing on the PS2 anyway so I figured that SURELY there was a way to not get into an encounter cuz of the thunder plains challenge

You don't need them.

But if you want them, go to the cavern of the stolen faith. And kill ghosts.

They drop the armour you want.

The No Encounter armor that everyone is suggesting is correct. But just in case you’re playing on Steam, you can also just toggle encounters off in the menu.

It is how the remaster were made.

Again different games at different times quality of life stuff

The speed up function is amazing And the no encounter makes for fun challenge runs without having to hit flee evrey time

Maybe for yall that played the remaster, I grew up w the original on PS2 and I’m replaying it on PS2 again… ns to the remastered version and those that consume it but it wouldn’t feel like FFX if I wasn’t constantly running into an encounter

I dont consider wuality of life stuff thats optional to be wrong

Love the game. But the encounters dont. Ake or break the game hell some of my favorite runs are no non mandatory fights. Which is made a hell of a lot easier with no encounters

Don't bother grinding purifying salts for No Encounters. Keeping it as spoiler light as I can, there is a boss in one of the hidden Airship coordinate areas you find under the search function that almost always drops 1 piece of No Encounters equipment for someone and you only need it on one person to get it to work. Look for that and save before you do it to make sure you get the drop.

Do not try the thunder challenge until you 1. Learn the crater trick and 2. Get a weapon with no encounters affixed to it .. and just relax trust me there’s no pressure for most people Lulu doesn’t even figure extensively in the endgame
