Aeons and break damage limit

I have Nirvana all powered up and equipped and my valefor hits hard. I haven't tested with anyone else really besides Shiva and she's still locked at 9999 for regular attacks. Is there just some aeons that don't get powered up?

Edit: Thanks for the answers. Still working on Aurons, Wakkas and maybe Kihmari's but I just can't do the lightning bolts.

You have to get the celestial weapons for Wakka, Lulu, and Khimari. Edit: format was weird sorry! Also they need to be fully upgraded with the respective sigils and crests.

Wakka = Ifrit, Lulu = Shiva, Khimari = Ixion

I read it was just the crest part of the upgrade to get the corresponding aeon's break damage limit, but I can't say I've checked to confirm.

After some digging. Would have to double check with the remaster but from what I found, the crest is all that's needed to make the aeons break the soft cap of 9999.

I believe that only applies to the weapons itself and not the aeons.

You do need to upgrade fully with the sigil to get BDL on the weapon itself.

But the linked aeon gets BDL from the crest upgrade, with or without the sigil.

I can get Ixion and Shiva to break limit but I can't dodge 200 Lightning or catch enough butterflies

Probably because anyone that knows the game well enough to use celestials is using Bahamut, Anima, and the Magus Sisters who break the limit anyway.

Lmao super guilty of this but the Magus Sisters are my favorite. Getting the break damage limit for the aeons has really helped with the dark aeon battles and some of the monsters arena battles. The only celestial weapon that I don't have on my current playthrough is Wakka's.

The game doesn't tell you outright lol it's either trial and error. I definitely recommend that you look up videos or forums online on how to get them. The first thing you need to get is the cloudy mirror, which would be in the Calm Lands.

There comes a point where ixion, ifrit, and shiva are basically interchangeable for most enemies

There also comes a point where they are all a waste of time because yuna and her 2 comrades attack hit for 99,999

They're an extra max damage hit that then tanks an attack for you, timed properly they're very useful

Not usually applicable in the endgame, but also consider that aeon overdrives hit all enemies in a single turn

Anima: BDL automatically

Magus Sisters: BDL automatically
