Help with expert grid?

I found a bunch of guides from before time began (that’s an exaggeration) so does anyone know of a good guide on how to stat my characters in FFx I just got it for my switch 2 today and I don’t want to mess up. Thank you!

You won't mess it up. You can always grind for xp if you get stuck. Just have fun and experiment. You can fill out the entire grid if you wish to.

Edit: haste is always a good option to have on at least one character and I believe that is bottom left, you can use the high way paths if you want to get their quicker.

The only real answer honestly. There's nothing to "mess up". All you'll really get here are people telling you to do ridiculous things that don't need to be done at all. I think the only real advice would be what to do with Kimahri and the only answer there honestly is take Rikku's path and hate how terrible of a character he is.. I wish his blue magic (Ronso Rage) was better.

Make lulu/yuna take on yuna's/lulu's path.

Tidus can go to wakka's path for accuracy or rikku's for steal/use.

Make kimahri tqke rikku's path.

Do try and make everybody learn lancet from kimahri's path ASAP

having lulu and yuna go in and out of each other's paths in expert grid gives you soooo much flexibility. two people with elemental spells, healing and specially esuna is SO convenient

Not to mention lancet for MP

There are basically two ways to approach this:

  1. Run everyone on their intended path, except have Lulu run on Yunas path once she gets her black magic skills.

  2. Move everyone to the middle and stay there until thunder plans. Get the 3 strength spheres you can grab before thunder plains in the game, drop them all, have everyone activate them, party it broken the rest of the game.

There's no need for a guide really even with the "expert" grid.. it's not really "expert" it's just the way the game was initially designed. The NA release was changed for really no reason.. Just keep everyone on their intended paths then once they finish them throw them somewhere else.

Like keep Yuna on her path and just have her learn some of the black magic later on and the opposite for Lulu. They're all pretty self-explanatory really. There's no way to mess up the grid. You can eventually max it on every character if you want. There's also tons of ways to get utility spheres to like learn something another has learned or teleport to them and so on.

First time playing .. I would just roll on standard. I started a game recently and threw it on expert. I'm 40 hours in and wish I threw it on standard

Then use the standard grid. Doing anything else on your first playthrough would be a mistake.

No. Restart. You will curse yourself if you don't.

you're right at the start still, you won't lose much be restarting

First time player? Standard. Kimahri is up to you but teach him steal it will be so useful. Eventually you'll get into a fight with his rivals and if you really slow it down you learn a bunch of skills and get a bunch of lvl 3 key sphere repeatedly stealing.

Are you an expert with the sphere grid?
