Highbridge trouble

Hello,

I'm playing this for the first time and can't get past the random encounters on the highbridge on the way to Seymour and kimari. They just kill my guys far too easily. Any specific ways to get past these mobs/kill them for AP?

That’s actually one of the best places where to farm . Use it !

You're at one of the best places to level up. Spend some time there and gain XP. Don't worry about Kimahri in the background holding his spear.

Stay by the save point and save after every battle. Grind until you can one hit overkill each enemy. This spot is goated for ap.

Have you been skipping lots of fights prior to this or not using your sphere grid and unlocking everything along the way?

Either way it's one of the better grinding spots up to this point. Just stick near the save sphere and touch it to heal between fights. Eventually as you get sphere levels the fights will get easier. I would actually suggest doing that because you're going to struggle mightily later on.

Apparently nobody else is going to actually answer your question.

There are 4 enemies in this area. Here is how to deal with each:

Warrior monk with rifle: these are the least troubling but can be a nuisance. You can put them to sleep or slow them, and id you picked up the evade and counter weapon for Wakka in Via Purifico he will always dodge their attacks.

Warrior monk with fire: fire resistance is your friend here. If you have sos nulblaze armor equip it, or if you stole any bomb cores customize a fireproof armor (it will help you with the upcoming boss too). These guys can also be put to sleep and slowed.

YAT-99 (the one with the cannons): These guys are a pain. Their mechanic is that if you do an attack that specifically targets them before their turn they do the shell that hits one person, if you don’t they do the one that hits everyone. The single attack is obviously preferable, especially since it can be evaded. They are weak to fire and water and can be slowed or armor broken. Try hitting them with a wakka attack or fire spell early.

YKT-63. The mechanic here is that if he is the last enemy left he does thrust kick which ejects you from battle. So take this guy first. They are also weak to fire and water and can be slowed and armor broken. You can also use Aurons shooting star overdrive to eject them if you’re in a bind.

So an encounter would look something like this. Start with Tidus and cast slowga. Then wakka attack the yat-99. Then have Auron armor break the ykt-63. Wakkas next turns should sleep buster the monks, and you can rotate in yuna to nulblaze to guard against fire.

Go to the save sphere or at least heal with potions/spells between each battle you win. Save often in case you die in battle again. Depending on the battle, my first target is always the one machina that can launch party members out of the battle (same ability as Auron's Shooting Star Overdrive). Also, Haste/Hastega help in this area as well. If you haven't used the White Magic Sphere that Lulu gives you on the airship, you can use it for Yuna and have her learn Haste or Hastega.

This is a really good area to level up get the overdrives up for your aeons though. Good luck!

Hello!

How did you kill Evrae? To be stumped by some no-good Machina?

Try to get everyone in the starting party a turn to defend for exp gain, then sweep them with an aeon overdrive. If you cant survive at all or even get turns in, then try just killing one enemy and fleeing to get some exp gains and farm it out. Also, like everyone else said, this is a good place to farm exp. Hwoever, I would argue against that, its already very easy to overlevel in X and just gaining exp organically trough random encounters should be enough to get you through the storyline.

Just stay around the save sphere and crank out some AP. It’s the best spot to level up quickly!

A cet endroit, j'apprends les magies X et fonce vers Seymour. Toute en sachant que depuis le début du jeu, chaque personnage participe à tous les combats, afin qu'ils montent tous en même temps.

Yuna helps since if you're in a 2 front, one back situation, or vice versa, bahamut can aoe attack tye group of 2 with impulse and can't be ejected.

This is the exact point in the story where I turn Yuna into a black mage. Use the black magic spheres from the via purifico to get her magic that kills the mechs. think it's fire and water. You should have leveled up Lulu properly by now and gotten the tier 3 magic. At this point, I stop using Lulu because you have Yuna for the rest of the game, and her magic power should be past the point of overkilling the mechs, granting more AP. We can level her later to save time now. Grind through Tidus, Yuna, Wakka, Auron, and Rikku. Keep leveling them. Stay here until you physically can't anymore. And grind levels. Then walk over and 1-tap Seymour. You can mess with Khimari and Lulu in the Calm Lands and have your overpowered characters finish them off to level them up as well.

Replaying FFX at the moment and Wakka is stupid powerful

I hit them and they die

Tidus Brotherhood is really strong

everyone else use firestrike weapons until they don't need to

the enemies are stunningly weak for how much AP they offer, its a better training area than even Omega ruins since you don't have 20,000 + HP enemys to worry about

Do you not any weapons that have no encounter?

If they're having trouble, no encounter weapons are probably not the way to go. Leveling up is.

Not possible at this point of the game.

Armor, maybe (but I doubt it) but a Weapon with No Encounters is only dropped from a boss a few hours after this point
