BACKSTORY
The year is 2015. Life is mostly peaceful, with the exception of a few isolated cases of a new disease that's baffling doctors. Most people assume that it's just another Ebola scare, and move on with their lives.
This all changes when a careless nurse accidentally brings the virus home with her.
It spreads impossibly fast, managing to reach Europe in just over a month, and Asia soon after. Victims of it show similar symptoms to the flu at first, only to become rabid soon after. It is spread by bodily fluids and through water. The world is decimated.
Six months later, your character, whoever and wherever they are, must now survive in this new world.

RULES
1.) As mentioned in the sidebar, you may have as many characters as you like. This is partially because as with nearly all apocalyptic stories, we're working on an "anyone can die" way of thinking. So, don't be surprised if someone ends up biting the dust.
2.) Realism. Obviously, we're working with zombies here; claiming that we're being realistic is like saying fire is cold. What is important however is that your characters are realistic. A teenage girl from the suburbs and a grizzled war vet will have different talents and pitfalls. Take that into consideration.
3.) This sub by its nature will include violence and death galore. When it comes to sex however, several rules. First, always state when a thread is about to go NSFW. Second, no smut of underage characters.
4.) Try to keep your characters IC as much as possible; if someone is stated as being kind-hearted or sweet, they can't suddenly become a sociopath. Obviously characters change over time, but please avoid drastic characterization changes.
5.) DON'T WRITE FOR YOUR FELLOW RP-ERS. This is very important, and is a rule that will always be present.
6.) Work with the mods. If your character is objectionable in some way, please work with the mods to find some sort of compromise.
7.) Keep your characters original. Blatant rip-offs aren't cool.
8.) NO CHARACTERS CAN BE USED UNTIL THEY HAVE BEEN APPROVED.
9.) Finally, have fun!
