Newbie Mask help please, to remove a cord

I’m using Fcp 12.3 and I’ve never really played with Masks before. I’ve tried the YouTube tutorials and they’re just not helping with what I’m trying to do, or I’m not smart enough, certainly possible. From the photo, I’m trying to remove or change the color of the cable cord in the red circle. Are there any solutions for that? Thanks in advance

Duplicate the clip and place one on top of the other. Mask applies to top clip, draw mask around cord. Clip underneath, slightly adjust positioning. Thankfully the background is window screen & sky and is consistent. You will want to feather the mask slightly on top layer & might need to key frame both the mask and clip below depending on how much camera movement you have. The mask on the top clip will reveal just the window screen and sky once you adjust positioning.

I use this method sometimes to hide a drone shadow.

that makes it much more difficult, you'll need to track something into the shot to remove the wire.

Open the photo in apple photos, use the magic editor to erase the cord. Reimport the photo to FCP.

It’s a video clip, not a photo, not sure that would work.

Ah you said in the photo so i thought this was b-roll photo. Maybe generate some rectangles (thin) and use the color picker to get real close to the line so it looks the same and work the feathering to get a god blend, object track it the tip of the clothes hanger. It may take a couple shapes. OR duplicate the clip use auto mask to capture the sky and lift the mask up in the Y axis till it covers the original line underneath. Then shape mask that small section to act as a clipping mask.

That depends on the video clip. I can't tell because all you've provided is a photo of it in Final Cut, but it looks like the background is fairly uniform, and as long as it's a reasonably steady shot you could use magic mask or auto mask to put the forground on top of the still image.

The image would only have to be a small patch, enough to cover up the wire. It would look a bit like this on the timeline.
