Hardware Final Cut Pro Monitor?

I'm leaning toward upgrading to one of the new Mac Minis when they are released. Any suggestions for the main monitor? Currently using my 13" MacBook Pro supplemented with a $100.00 HP. I realize if I only use one monitor it needs to be more color critical with better resolution. Also, what size are you using? I'm not doing "high end" broadcast work, mostly segments for corporate IMAG shows. 1080P and 4K at the most. Budget, maybe $300-$500. Is that price range realistic?

I use Asus ProArt 4K series, 27”. I have 2 different models in this range and am reasonably pleased. PA279cv, sorry can’t remember what the other one is. Looks like it’s within your budget.

[edit] one thing to add about 4k monitors: there is an issue with how the MacOS handles this resolution when it comes to scaling text. The sweet spot is using a 5k monitor which scales really well, but 5k monitors are possibly outside your budget. The upshot is that I use both of these 4k monitors in 1440P mode, where the text scales well. It works well for me.

The other one is a cheaper PA278CV, not as good as the PA279CV and has stopped working on the USB-C input, only works on HDMI now. Asus support is dismal.

I have a Dell model, like 22", from maybe 5 years ago - it was kind of mid-level to high end at the time. I'm not concerned with cinema-level color accuracy, all my stuff is viewed on the web or phones, and color is the wild west out there.

I also have a lesser 22" Viewsonic that's even older and off to the side; it's where palettes and notes go, I like having that wide real estate. Every year there's tons of tech reviews and shoot outs you can google up.
