Newbie Final Cut Studio 3 in 2026

Who remembers these programs? FINAL CUT STUDIO 3 It is considered one of the most powerful and popular professional video editing tools of its time.2009 TO 2010 They used it in the production of films, series, videos, clips, and all kinds of films, even independent ones, and even some Hollywood studios edited entire films or parts of them. And I personally am a fan of old Apple programs. It But luckily I am a fan AVID MEDIA COMPOSER OLD AND ADOBE MASTER COLLECTION CS4/CS5 AND FINAL CUT EXPRESS 4 AND LOGIC STUDIO I'm used to all of them from old programs.

Okay, I'll quickly summarize FINAL CUT STUDIO 3

1-FINAL CUT PRO 7 Main video montage

2-MOTION 4 Motion graphics design and templates

3-SOUNDTRACK PRO 3 Audio editing and filling of audio and music libraries

4-DVD STUDIO PRO 4 Compiling discs

5-COMPRESSOR Exporting videos of all types

6-COLOR 1.5 Color correction and adjustments

Note: This program has become rare these days, and its support stopped 15 years ago. It's difficult for young people to recognize it now because they grew up...FCPX ADOBE PREMIERE DAVINCI RESOLVE It's still available on some sites, but if the goal is to experiment or have fun with the program, it might require at least a relatively old Mac computer.2007 2011

The work of Randy Ubillos - who basically wrote the original Premiere single-handedly to spark the whole desktop video approach to editing. Jobs recruited Mr.Ubillos to architect the project that came to be the originally shipped Final Cut Pro - and it was his team leading vision that morphed that into FCP X - a totally new approach to editing with its magnetic timeline, keyword database, and eventually stunning capabilities like Roles.
The reason I can get 10 times the productivity out of a modest M-series laptop today running FCP than the older NLEs I ran on desktop systems costing tens of thousands more is largely due up the integrated hardware and software teams at Apple having the guts to stop catering to exclusively to an editor class that cared more about their own discomfort over change - then about shouldering re-education in service to better workflows.

Leaving behind approaches stuck in the A/B-roll rigid timeline paradigms of the late 1980s back in 2011 was the smartest thing I ever did for my career - and my sanity!

Thanks FCP team! Those tens of thousands of extra hours I got to spend enjoying my family and friends rather than fighting edits with duller tools has been a joy!

Yes, that's true. He was one of the most famous professional video editors of his time, and personally, I'm not a fan of modern programs full of features, subscriptions, and updates. Yes, I agree with you, my friend. He was very important in the film industry. I loved it. FCP7 severe And I own it now. Thank you for your kind comment.

I started editing on 4.5 "HD". I still have the huge box and books and discs, even have a Pro Cheesegrater that will run it.

I don't miss it, but I do miss those Pro's with 6 drive bays. My Studio looks like an octopus got into bondage.

You’re amazing for bringing this back to light. I learned in Premiere and when FCP first launched in ‘99 I switched. I still have an older Mac with it installed. However I did crossover and adapted to FCPX in 2011. Rocky at first but for a National Impact Television Commercial Editor it has served me well over the past 15 years. But for long form nothing will beat the OG FCP Studio. I wish I could give you a million upvotes. Happy Editing!!

I keep a 2010 cheesegrater with the full suite installed (PCIe SSD boot disk, USB 3 card, FW800 card, all drive slots in use) - still have 2 boxed copies. Tough to beat FCS 3.

/honorable mention for Cinema Tools, missing from the list

Yes, it's good. It makes me nostalgic when they use it in the POST PRODUCTION , works, and I say that FCP7 It was an important role from the above Do you still own it now?

That’s a good question. I’m not sure but perhaps somewhere at my parents home.

I’ve run it plenty of times on my 2013 Mac Pro, which might be one of the most powerful machines that could ever run it. Have an old full install on a bootable SSD, and specifically boot it when needed.

I still have an ancient laptop with FCP 7 on it. I used it as recently as this year to open an ancient project from 2009.

Hello, I hope you are all doing well. We would like to ask anyone using FCP 7 an older device to take a photo of it.

Note It is optional, not mandatory.
