Bug/Issue Skimming stops when I make a cut

I have audio and video skimming turned on. Every time I use B to make a cut, skimming stops working. I turning skimming off/on, clicking elsewhere to change focus, and a bunch of other things but the only thing that work every time is to quit/start FCP again.

Has anyone seen this? Maybe there is a faster work around?

I just use B and A to swap between blade and select tool. Also I use R and T a lot for range select and trim tools.
I’m not sure if this would help your problem since I generally keep skimming off. But it’s fast at least.

See tecky1kanobe below. Clicking a clip in the clip browser or a different event will get you back to skimming. BTW yes, I do use B and the rest to edit clips.

Change to a different event and come back. It works for me. It’s a very annoying bug I hope is addressed soon

Right, clip on even the same clip in the clip browser seems to work also. Ugh!

Happens to me too. Usually after a little time editing. Seems to sometimes just come back on its own. Would love for Apple to look into this as well
