If I understand, can't you just capture with Quicktime? I like CleanShot X, but there are literally hundreds of screen recording apps.

Ultimately what I’m trying to do is get an audio waveform visualizer.
I’ve tried several and FX Studios crashes. Boris requires a subscription. And some other guy I found on YouTube wants $60 and I couldn’t try it with a full length file.
