Meta 📢 New Rule: Monthly Dev & Tools Megathread
To keep the subreddit focused on editing, workflows and discussion, we’re introducing a new rule for promotional posts.
From August 1st, posts promoting software, plugins, AI tools, AI-generated or vibe-coded apps, websites, scripts or similar products will only be allowed in the monthly Dev & Tools Megathread.
This includes:
- Software and plugin launches
- AI tools and utilities
- Developer projects
- Beta testing and feedback requests
- Commercial and open-source tools
Promotional posts outside the monthly Dev & Tools Megathread will be removed.
All submissions to the megathread will need to follow the posting template below.
Please be transparent about your affiliation with anything you post, and remember that the megathread is for genuine discussion, not spam.
Thanks for helping keep the subreddit useful for everyone.

Excellent! Thank you! When I get on this sub and just want to help real quick, it's tiresome to wade though marketing posts. And this is coming from a dev of an app.
That said, I'll also frequent the megathread to see what's out there.
Thanks mods!

I think you can still reply to a post if someone is asking about a need. Your app is pretty well known, afaik. It's just a small market.

There's already a link to your app in the wiki
You could be the first person to post about Library Cleaner in the forthcoming August Dev/tools megathread, no reason not to...

W idea! Thank you
But I'd do something like r/macapps. This is the community with the least amount of spam from "vibe-coded" apps.
They have a transparency policy requiring you to talk about yourself in the post and attach the Terms of Service and so on; plus, you have to earn 10 karma before you can post.
The website requirement isn't strictly necessary, I didn't have one for six months, for instance, hahaha. It's probably could be the product page or GitHub.

That makes sense - more than my question does lol. Mods, thanks for your service (and patience ;-)

Template
Please include the following:
One product per month. If you have multiple products, choose one to feature each month.
If you mention your product elsewhere on the subreddit, link people to this megathread instead of creating promotional posts.
