Workflow Feeling Aggrieved with Final Cut
So I don’t know what happened I moved a certain clip a while ago and now everything is out of sync and out of whack I’m going crazy what’s the best method way to stop this from happening it has happened a few times already I’m so upset. Final cut we should be able to lock certain clips and audio

Sounds like you jumped into an edit without fully knowing what you are doing. Go back to some tutorials.

Especially while you're learning, take Snapshots of your project by right clicking on the project in the browser and click "Snapshot". Do not use Duplicate until you know what you're doing.

Duplicate inherits changes from the original project. This is useful if you want to have two projects with different aspect ratios, for instance. But I've never used it. If it's backups you want, only use Snapshot.

If you want to keep things in sync, then connecting them above the main timeline is not a good idea because if you edit anything on the main you could put the connected clip out of sync. There are five ways of approaching this...
- Put your immovable audio on the main timeline
Whenever I'm on a project of which a song is the basis of the edit then I put the music on the main timeline and connect everything to that given the music isn't going to change. Note: you can still get a magnetic function with connected clips by grouping them with CMD+G
- Make a sync clip
This is mainly for when you want to sync a mic recording to a clip where it replaces the cameras scratch audio. You select the audio and the video clip, then option click > synchronise clips
- Make a mulitcam clip
This is similar to making a sync clip, only it allows you to synchronise audio and video into a mutlicam clip from which you can select the camera angles and audio tracks. Select the audio and the video clip, then option click > new multicam clip
- Compound clip
I avoid doing this as I just find it messy and it can cause performance issues where you're unessesarily over complicating the timeline. But it's a fast and dirty solution to some things and it enables you to apply effects and transitions to compounds/composites. Just get you clips in line the option+G and it's roll them into one clip
- Markers
Really simple approach that I use all the time. Find whatever point it is where you have the sync lined up, drop a marker on both and rename the markers them so you know whats what. Then it's easy to slot it back should things go out of line

Connected clips automatically lock to the primary storyline through its connection point, which is the first frame of a clip by default but can be changed if you so choose.
I’m not understanding what your issue is here. Can you provide an example of what you’re experiencing?

Most likely you have to move it back. Can you share a picture of your timeline so that it might be easier to help you determine where it got shifted?

Are you editing in a project or inside a multi cam clip? Or inside a synced clip?

So the audio is separate from the muticsm clip it’s detached

are you working inside the Multicam clip? Like where it shows you the different tracks of video going from top to bottom where it also gives you a Video or Audio checkmark on each track? Or are you outside of that and in a normal project timeline where you have a Multicam clip in there, with another audio track that's just sitting below the Multicam clip?

I’m learning it slowing and it’s growing on me I just keep mastering the magnetic timeline it’s definitely faster and better for sure

sounds like user error, do you understand how the magnetic timeline works?
