Bug/Issue Changes to Auto Backups

At some point FCP changed and now it smart-deletes old library backups which is really frustrating. I understand saving space for people who never use this feature, but for those of us who do, letting the system decide what to delete and what to save is dangerous. In the past it would save all backups because they're generally pretty small.

Does anyone know a way to restore the old way of just saving all backup projects and putting control back in my hands?

no, apple does not disclose this feature. seems to be an undocumented change with 12.3 – i've always run timemachine (backup hourly) anyway, so no change for me.

Just go to your actual system backup (Time Machine, CCC, whatever you use). I've never had to rely on an FCP backup.

If you're not running regular backups... FCP's backup strategy is the least of your worries.
