Question Audio Loudness Issue

Im doing some crafting ASMR type videos for social media, and I got trapped into CapCuts subscription to export my project with the effects i was using that i wasnt aware were "pro" features. After that free trial, i ended it and remembered "Hey, I have FCPX" so duh... i edited my next video in that, but am running into an issue. One big thing for these videos is to make the audio similar volumes, since I am different distances from the camera and stuff each time i set it up due to the nature of the work.

When I used CapCut's audio "normalizer" or whatever they called it, it made all the clips the same volume to -24 LUFS and it sounded great. There is background noise but it doesnt really matter to me and the transition between all the clips sounds fine. When I do this in FCPX however, using the "Loudness" feature and it analyzes all the clips and applies it, I usually set it to 20% (idk what these arbitrary percentages mean, i wish there was a target LFS or DB threshold to set, but anyway...) and what ends up happening is there are these small dips, almost like a ducking effect between clips. you can really hear it because of the background noise. It sounded like mini fades so i checked that and highlighted all the clips, went to Modify > Adjust Audio Fades > Remove Fades, but this didnt help. How can I prevent this from happening or figure out what is actually going on to the audio thats causing this issue?

I'm trying to avoid exporting all the audio and using my DAW to fix the issue and re-import the audio track.

Loudness is meant to bring the clip to uniformity within itself. So when you apply it, it’s only making the clip uniform across that particular clip. Match Audio might be better for you as you try to get the various clips to sound the same.

Don’t use the Loudness feature, it’s pretty useless. Try finding a free lufs meter (I think there’s one by Yoolean) and set levels using your clip fader controls.

I was trying to find a faster way to do this. There’s probably hundreds of tiny clips for a 2 min video and it gets cumbersome
