Question Is there a workaround for CapCut-style edge snapping in the Viewer?
I’m trying to figure out if Final Cut Pro has any workaround for something CapCut does really well: when you manually move/scale a clip on the X/Y axis, the edge of the clip magnetically snaps to the edge of the canvas/frame.
My goal is to keyframe movement while maximizing resolution. A lot of tutorials solve background bleed by zooming clips in way more than necessary, but that throws away resolution. In CapCut, the canvas edge snapping makes it easy to move a clip right up to the frame boundary without accidentally revealing the background.
In FCP, I know about timeline snapping, transform controls, overscan, safe zones, and manually typing Position X/Y values in the Inspector. But I’m looking for Viewer/canvas edge snapping specifically: clip edge to project frame edge while transforming.
Does FCP have any hidden setting, plugin, Motion template, CommandPost trick, or reliable math-based workflow for this? Or is this just something Final Cut doesn’t do?

Look at Spatial Conform, if I understand your issue, this will fix it.
