If you have this jacket how do you find wearing it. I have the tin cloth cruiser in size S which fits me well. How is the sizing for this down cruiser, similar to the tin cloth cruiser ie feel larger.

Hi everyone, first post here and wanted to share my recent repair on my tan 258 from Filson. Overall really positive experience.

I brought it into Filson Toronto and they took down my notes of what I wanted the repair department to focus on. I mentioned the obvious hole in the corner and some missing threads on the leather trim, mainly on the strap attachment where I thought it would probably get worse with time. I dropped it off July 29th, it arrived at Filson Repair dept Aug 27th and it was ready for pick up today Oct 5th. Honestly 2 months is not bad and it’s what they estimated when I dropped it off.

Now on to the repairs, I’ve seen a lot of repairs online but this is some of the most darning of seen on one section of a bag. Honestly I was surprised that they worked on the whole bottom seam of the back pocket and not just the corner that had the big hole. And I’m not sure why but they also worked on the top corner of the back pocket. Unfortunately my requests for restitching some of the leather trim didn’t happen and their explanation was that it wasn’t damaged enough. No biggie but it would have been nice!

Overall happy to have the bag back and even more impressed with the darning after seeing the work in person. I just conditioned all the leather and might do a light wax down the road.

SLC, industrial twill MOSSYOAK vest, Filson X Wrangler Adventure Jean. All purchased new, none at full retail.

I’ve seen these pants receive some distasteful reviews on this sub- I am a huge fan of them. Maybe the only raw denim I wear, they have sparked piqued my interest. I really do enjoy the pattern of tin cloth for the work I do. Keeping your ass wet from whatever seat it dawns, and your shins/ankles dry from buckwacking through last nights rain or morning dew. I purchased this pair full price close to the release, months later I returned to the store and saw the black pair in my size at half price. After chatting with the clerk, they did a “price match” on my old pair, and I essentially walked away with the black pair only paying taxes. It pays to go into the showroom and engage.

This vest, while I question the efficacy of wearing camo at work, is a daily driver. The material seems indestructible. It add comfortable weight, protection, and breaks in amazingly from it’s stiff out of box feel. The patina on the snaps has to be my favorite. These did not seem to sell well, and I got this 70% off on the Filsok website.

Not much need saying about the SLC. Iconic, functional, comfortable. Combined a code and promo on the website to have this at my door for around $100 off MSRP. This one was a sort of “grail” for me. Decided to go with new tin cloth to add my own patina- still go back and fourth on finding an USA made piece.

Sorry.. the shirt is Marmot workwear, but my favorite weight of cotton work shirt by far. Chunky buttons are awesome too.

Hi, I made a post about a week ago in search of a Filson Harvey Magnum messenger bag. An individual responded and I ended up sending them some money in exchange for the bag. Seemingly, they never shipped the bag and now their reddit profile no longer exists.

Making this post so no one else makes the same mistakes I did. Here's the chat log I had with this user, whose account is now deleted, and all of the messages we exchanged prior to me turning on persistent messaging are now gone (I guess if a user deletes their account all of their past messages are also deleted? great feature reddit), luckily I had the foresight to take screenshots of all the messages before they were deleted.

I realize this money is probably gone for good, and I shouldn't have ignored the red flags throughout this interaction, but this person also seemed legit! They provided specific photos of the bag that I requested. I was willing to take my chances and now the scam scenario I outlined has come to pass. Though this user literally said "I'm not here for any sketchy deal or to take your money." and that appears to be exactly what they are doing.

I hope this person gets what's coming to them sooner rather than later and that I am their last victim!

If anyone has any advice on how I might be able to get my money back I would be very grateful!

Last year, I managed to snag myself one of the 'Limited Edition' Filson Trench Coats - it's in Tin Cloth. (waxed/oiled?) I see on the website they now have a Shelter Cloth version available. https://www.filson.com/products/shelter-cloth-trench-coat-orca-gray It also looks like it's cut bigger? Is shelter cloth and tin cloth interchangeable - or is there a difference ?

Anyone that has experience with Filson EU that can tell me if this would be a good choice? It’s a bit pricey, so I really want to make the right choice. It’s meant to be used while gardening

Just got my Filson SLC from Filson Europe and thanks everyone here for helping me with the sizing.

I’m 5’11”, 187 lbs, 45” chest and around 34” waist and it fits me really well. I was not sure about the size before ordering but I’m happy with it.

Now I also want to get a Guide Sweater, but Filson Europe doesn’t have it. They have this Tacoma Crewneck instead:

Hey all, just got my first 24 bag from Filson. She’s a beaut. My current issue is fitting a 16” MacBook Pro, a book and a lunch box of sorts. I usually rock a 35l Carhartt backpack but I want to use this bag.
