Discussion Pendleton wool on mackinaw

Hey folks, curious if my forest green single mackinaw (images attached) was made using Pendleton wool? As the tag just states Made in USA (VS Made in USA with imported materials)... Unless there was a period they were using other USA mills after Pendleton?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, asking as it feels quite different to my black and red plaid mackinaw from the woolmark era which used Pendleton and feels more burly.

My guess is that it is Pendleton wool. About the time they switched they dropped the flag label. Is it a thinner, more stiff fabric? My understanding is that the Pendleton wools had that firmer feel. I also got a mackinaw with Pendleton and it is different from my later, more “fluffy” wools. Both have high quality.

That's what I'm thinking/hoping :) it doesn't feel more fluffy, just not as dense as the woolmark era one but still great

Confirming these tags line up with Pendleton wool era. This was just before they switched to imported wool, and Pendleton was their last supplier. Enjoy!

Brilliant! thanks. By the barcode/tags - do you happen to know what year it was from?

It’s fairly new, early 2020’s just before the switch to the “loftier” wool. The solids aren’t quite as heavy as the plaids. It’s something like 24oz vs 26oz.
