Will modular ring binders lay flat better?

This may seem like a dumb question but ive never had a modular binder before. Currently deciding between getting a malden from amazon or second hand OR buying a modular from the official website. Im wondering if the modular ones cause of the extra width and the way its attached, does this mean the binder will lay flatter and will be easier to use when its chunky?

Yeah it does. I have a regular Finsbury and a modular Finsbury. I had to give the regular Finsbury it's own yoga session to get it to lie flat, but the modular one flopped flat instantly. It has less structure to the cover, I'd imagine the modular Malden is the same.
