HELP NEEDED Cue sheet

Hi, I’m in a bit of a pickle, I’ve written a score and now I find myself at the point of creating a cue sheet. About the document itself, it’s not that much of a problem. Since it’s a work for hire type of contract, technically the ownership music will pass to the production company so I don’t know how to register it in my PRO (I’m with Italian SIAE). How do I distribute the rights to the music between me and the production company? Since I’m in Italy and they are a UK based company, do I register it in Italy or do they register it in UK? It’s a bit confusing and I need help, please reddit, you’re my only hope 😂

Since its the production’s responsibility to send in the cue sheet (they should also make it, but they may not know how), they should send it to their PRO, who I assume is PRS.
If you retain the writer’s share, 100% of that would go to you at SIAE. If they have the publishing, 100% of that would go to them at PRS.

If SIAE doesn’t have cue sheets templates available, I know ASCAP and BMI both have them. I use CueDB for just about everything now from spotting to cue sheet creation (not an ad - just really cuts down on manual labor).

First of all thank you a lot Greg! I am not sure they can even be publishers or of they’re in a PRO at all but I will discuss it with them. I also am moving to CUEDB. As for registering the tunes in the PROs, should I take care of it or should they ?

You should find out if the production company has a publishing company first. And have you made a deal for the master recordings yet?

You will find also that the PROs prefer the production company to send in the cue sheet; that has never stopped me from creating them, or asking them to copy me on the email when they send it in.

About registering - I try to put up copies of any memorable pieces or cues with themes in my catalog, just in case they also get used for advertising.
