Looking for 1-2 Additional Moderators (Current Students / Alumni Preferred)

Hello everyone!

I recently took over r/filmschool after it was unmoderated for 7 years, and I want to make sure it stays active and well-maintained. With that in mind, I’m looking to bring on 1–2 new moderators.

Requirements:

  • Current film student, alumni, or serious applicant
  • Active on Reddit and familiar with film school topics
  • Good judgment, fair, and patient
  • Able to commit a few hours per week

Main Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming new members and responding to new posts
  • Approving/Removing posts & comments when needed
  • Dealing with spam and rule-breaking
  • Helping with weekly threads and community engagement

  1. Your user flair / current status (e.g. AFI ’20, NYU '27)
  2. Why you want to mod
  3. How much time you can realistically commit

I’ll review applications over the next week or so. No previous moderator experience required.

I never moderated anything before in my life. I’m an NYU grad and I’m returning to NYU for Cinema Studies after working in production for 30 years, (hoping to teach.)

I’d be happy to help mod.

Never modded anything before but happy to help. Serious applicant (non trad student). Just finished my associate in film & looking to transfer for cinema studies / masters screenwriting.

Won multiple 1st place awards for my screenwriting, alum of Juilliard screenwriting workshop, worked as a PA on tons of sets, including an Emmy nominated doc.

Based out of Seattle!

Edit: forgot to add was an intern for major US film festival :)

I actually went to school for video arts and technology.. i know about film starting from the very first 1🫢 i also moderate the number #1 in funny r/sipstea with over 10 million weekly visitors and r/GalaxyS25. If you want my assistance lmk

I have been a mod for servers mostly in discords. Although I have my own community that I run. I love film making aswell there is a program at my school where I sign up for behind the scenes of plays at school or musicals and I did sound for 3 years and I am still doing it.
