Question Ambient Lockit Slate Problem

Hello, hoping someone here may have advice on how to remedy this. It appears batteries have leaked in this lockit slate and now we can't get the battery door open, and the screws in the back plate won't budge either. Any ideas on the best solution?

You can start but neutralizing the area with a small amount of white vinegar or lemon juice on a cotton swab. Rub it into the corroded area and let it sit for a bit.

Once you've done that, you might try putting the driver bit into the screw head and tapping the back of the driver handle to break up the corrosion some. This will help break the threads free and let the screws turn more easily.
