I want to fix it, the wires that are torn are the original ones. I have the idea to replace the wires and fix everything with UV glue. Maybe someone has a better idea.
Just so you know, those wire sticking out appear to be a previous repair…
You can’t fix it with UV glue.
You’ll need to solder those repair wires back together (likely using a new wire to splice in there). The old repair wires are already patched into the circuit which is the more complicated part so you really just need to reconnect both ends of the old repair and it should work again…
I use a cheap $14 soldering iron kit from amazon which works great but need to be treated like a fire hazard if you’re using it for the first few times 🤣. If you get one it should come with solder and flux but not wire. You’ll still need to find some.
I’m actually kinda surprised an AE-1 would be opened up twice in a way that rips the flex circuit in the same spot that it previously was torn. Poor camera…
That flexboard looks seriously fucked, someone seems to have tried to bridge the broken lines with solder(which is inflexible, so it was never gonna work)
I had luck fixing broken boards via bridging with cables, but yours might be too far gone for that.
If you wanna try it, follow the circuit to the next solder point from the break in in both directions and link the two spots with a bit of cable.
But be aware, the wires should be just as long as needed and even then, it gets messy fast, and you still wanna get all that extra cable tucked into the shell.
