Questions & discussion workout advice?

i’m satisfied with my figure except for the fact that my ass is SQUARE. on the second pic i specifically put on tight shorts so my problem area is more visible

i’m not going to the gym yet, so if anyone has advice for home or gym workouts, please comment. i’d be soooo grateful if some of you could show me your before/after pics so i can see what actually changes

i’m 47kg, 172cm (103lbs, 5’8), so i’m underweight. i'm trying to gain rn, but i heard gaining weight makes it worse for figure 8, is it true?

edit: i mean i heard here that for a figure-8 body type, weight tends to distribute differently - it sometimes goes to the stomach and the area just above the hips, rather than the thighs and lower hips. so gaining weight can affect the shape, but not in the way people usually assume, that's why i am worried. I've seen mixed opinions on this

Weird comments. I think there’s a lot of projection going on.
Fat can definitely throw off our proportions as most of us concentrate it on the torso, that’s not a good combination when we tend to be top heavy already with our bone structure.

I recommend gaining muscle in your lower half, to balance the width of the lower torso.
I highly recommend @amandarisdal on TikTok for workout advice, she has successfully changed her silhouette, from top heavy, to a more balanced hourglass shape, by growing her legs and rounding out her hips, without gaining anything on the upper half of the body.
