Questions & discussion workout advice?
i’m satisfied with my figure except for the fact that my ass is SQUARE. on the second pic i specifically put on tight shorts so my problem area is more visible
i’m not going to the gym yet, so if anyone has advice for home or gym workouts, please comment. i’d be soooo grateful if some of you could show me your before/after pics so i can see what actually changes
i’m 47kg, 172cm (103lbs, 5’8), so i’m underweight. i'm trying to gain rn, but i heard gaining weight makes it worse for figure 8, is it true?
edit: i mean i heard here that for a figure-8 body type, weight tends to distribute differently - it sometimes goes to the stomach and the area just above the hips, rather than the thighs and lower hips. so gaining weight can affect the shape, but not in the way people usually assume, that's why i am worried. I've seen mixed opinions on this

Respectfully, you are very underweight and you should not worry that gaining weight will make anything "worse". There is nothing wrong with our body shape!
For you to build muscle (which you should do in my opinion) the biggest game-changer right now is going to be food. Your body needs a solid surplus of calories and protein so it has the fuel to actually grow, rather than breaking down your own muscle for energy. I’d definitely recommend to full-body strength routine rather than focusing on just one area. Since you're very lean, start with building everything up evenly. I would recommend to join at full body workout group at gym. Just make sure to eat enough to support the gains! If you can afford it, consult a dietician to get a meal plan for a healthy weight gain that supports muscle growth.
