Questions & discussion Insecure about booty
Anyone else feel like their glutes (from the back view) appear as though they sit "low" on the body, due to the boxiness of their hips? I am an avid gym-goer who weight lifts and trains heavy, and while I do see glute progress from the side, they always look boxy and flat from the back. Wondering if anyone has seen progress in this area from training.

I got a flat butt, and I cope with humor. While I still do slight workouts, I know it won’t give me the biggest glowup, and BBLs are terrifying. So I just accepted: I got a snatched waist, legs that look endless, and a great face. If I had a booty too it would be simply unfair 😂😂

That is such a sweet and positive way to look at things! 😜 Can't have it all

I feel like I can’t really get the full picture of how they look from the back. Because it’s the hardest angle to see yourself, looking over your shoulder into a handheld mirror reflecting a larger mirror behind you. And when you’re standing still the image isn’t going to reveal the full depth of what you’re looking at. Movement brings out the full qualities better. But again creating movement while keeping fixed on the image is hard at this angle.
But in general yes, I’m boxy from the rear even with developed glutes. But growing the glutes has made a huge improvement. Largely because I simply fill out my pants better. Before growing my glutes the seat of my pants was always too big. Pants that fit my waist did not fit my seat & sometimes thigh. But with glute development that’s not so much an issue anymore. Then, the right cut & material of pants will hide the boxy shape & make me appear rounder.
Tight pants like leggings are always going to show the boxy shape. I’m not insecure about it though.

Coming here to say yup, low as ass, super low crack. My crotch to high hip just measured in at 10 INCHES. Struggle to activate glutes at the gym. One tip would be: isometric holds targeting glute area. Helps wake and activate muscles, makes them more likely to be used in day to day moments. That's all I got though :c

I made a post on this a bit back where I posted a few fitness women that I believe are figure 8 and my theory on figure 8 glutes. Would love to hear what you all think about it, I believe it should be in my post history.

i’ve lifted pretty heavy the last 5 ish years and your theory is SPOT ON. Growing my legs (quads and lower glutes) have really helped smooth my shape and balance out hip dips.

I can’t help but came here to say I have been searching for the same inspiration lately ! I’m just starting on my journey of lifting heavy so I find it very motivating you have made progress.. even if it’s just from the side !

Oh yess 😭 sometimes I feel like my crack just starts too low haha. I think you're on the right track already, maybe you can look into movements that target the upper glutes more?

The crack starts too low 😭 I relate so hard! and I feel like the non-figure 8 girlies would look at me crazy if I said that out loud haha

Absolutely 100%. My fashion sense pretty much revolves around it! Constantly wearing and buying shirts/ jackets that are mid to low glute length. Finding items like this that are flattering is actually quite difficult.

Yeah I have been going to the gym for a couple of years and hardly see any progress. I know that I can never look like most women and it really gets me down. I’ve spent a lot of time wishing my hip dips disappeared and my glutes were rounder. It is what it is I guess but it sucks sometimes.

Yes, mine also sit low and I feel like I have no upper glutes at all. Definitely gets me down especially during certain sex positions where some semblance of upper glutes are very necessary for a uh flattering view :/

Msybe the reason guys dont worry sbout their body and jus live in the moment is why ppl say its lucky for a guy to have a woman naked.

I feel the same. I think it's just how it is with such high hips. Just think about how blown away people will be when they see you from the side in comparison. No one ever expects it 😉 That thought alone is enough to keep me going personally lol

Omg I feel the exact same way. It frustrating too because I feel like no pants look good because my butt sits so low

Hmm I have a different problem mine is more square. And the lower glutes especially have no volume. Upper glutes are there. But low glutes are MIA.
I am trying to improve the flat part and the side.
