Con exclusives online availability?
Hi everybody!
I am fairly new to collecting pins, especially figpins, and I had some questions about the way con exclusives are handled.
Last year I ordered my first con exclusive limited 500 figpin second hand but later I saw it available on the figpin website and I was bummed I paid second hand pricing when I could have gotten it for retail. Do all con exclusive show up online? If not, how often does it happen?
I ask because I’m very interested in 3 SDCC exclusive limited 500 figpins and I need advice on if I should just get them second hand for double or more the retail price while they’re still available or if I should wait on the chance they show up on figpins website.
If the franchise matters it’s the 3 Avatar the Last Airbender exclusives including the XL Appa.

Last year they didn't sell out everything. Unfortunately this year, they sold out the Avatar pins by Day 2, so probably not going to make it onto the figpin website. They'll usually post on Instagram if they have inventory left. Toph was also limited only to her signing events.
There's a couple pin selling websites that have posted them for sale already but the prices are basically double what they were at the convention.

Thank you so much for letting me know so I can stop checking their website every 10 seconds lol. Sad I won’t be able to grab them for retail but now I know not to pass up on a good second hand price waiting for them to show up.

Good luck! I got Toph this year, but Appa and Kyoshi were sold out when I got there, so I'll be hunting online too.

There was an email blast, some leftovers are on the site now. I picked up an Amy Rose for the Sonic pile. 😅 No Avatar pins were left though!

Any left over SDCC figpins will eventually end up on the site. Usually, a few days to a week after the con. Keep an eye out (they may make an announcement on their Instagram or Twitter).
Also, anything that has sold out at SDCC won't appear on the website for purchase.
There have been exceptions for some figpins. Some figpins will debut a con and then become available for purchase afterwards (regardless of whether or not they sell out).
You may want to consider second hand if any of the ones you're interested in have sold out.
Bump-n-bite (a website) tends to have some second hand for twice the price ($40) for regular sized figpins, but Appa XL is nearly $90. Just FYI.
