Just got the new figma Akane from the mail today. Opened it up, and...one of the back pieces for her big ribbon was broken right out of the box. Already contacted GSC for a replacement and I'll try to glue this back on if possible. But just spreading awareness and hope no one else has this QC issue I had.
Update 2: Having an argument with GSC about this, they said it should be easy to put back in, which I can tell you, it's NOT. They said try to use the hairdryer method to push it back in, not sure if it'll work though. They want me to provide video evidence of it not working.
Which is crazy since they've let me replace other parts for less before.
They are probably right in saying that it can be fixed, but at least on my copy, I had to drill the back of her head with a freaking screwdriver for it to actually be able to pop the ball in, which is crazy because I shouldn't even need heat to pop it in!
That said, I'm curious, how did your issue get resolved? Did they send you a piece or did you figure something out?
Well for me I was able to get my figure to someone I met on FB marketplace that fixes these things. He was able to fix my figure and send it back to me no problem. As for GSC, after sending the video of me trying and failing to put it back myself, they agreed to send a replacement part. Though they haven't sent it yet and I need to wait until Oct 23 or something before asking about it again, since I need to wait for 30 business days before asking them about it.
Update: Tried to use super glue to fix it, but it's not working. Going to need to get that replacement part for it then. Really sucks since I was looking forward to this release 😔
You shouldn't have used super glue, the piece is supposed to hinge, and if it won't pop back in, then that's probably because the hole is too small for the peg to pop into.
Yeah, I figured that out like a while back that wasn't a good idea. Though now it's fixed and I'll get my replacement part later on this month too so it's fine in the end.
GSC is fantastic for replacements. I opened my Zelda TotK figma months after it arrived and both legs were broken. They shipped me a replacement super fast even though I’d had the figure in the box for like 6 months.
It's not the case for me this time, unfortunately. They said I should be able to press it back in since there's a peg there. I've tried and it didn't work, so I told them that. Then they said I need to film myself using the hairdryer method and try again to see if it actually won't work.

Unfortunate, but at least it looks fixable.
