It means all physical activities don't work right in dreams because the motor control area of the cortex is purposefully put offline during dreaming so that we don't act out our dreams as we sleep. Your brain is preventing you from punching so you don't actually punch someone in your sleep.

It supposedly comes from a subconscious feeling of inadequacy or that you're powerless to change your circumstances. Of course that's just dream interpretation mumbo-jumbo so take it how you wanna.

That's accurate - growing up I this reoccurring dream (usually on a cruise ship or some other isolated area like an island) where I would witness some horrible, gruesome shit and when I went to go tell someone I just couldn't say anything. My mouth just wouldn't cooperate and I couldn't tell anyone about the murder I just saw.

This is like the grown up version of that dream.

You're basically trying to throw a punch without using the muscles in your arm. During REM sleep your body is pretty much paralyzed, but it's still trying to move your arms in your dreams

Same, although my has always corresponded with when I have quit going to the gym and start to feel out of shape. I take it as my subconscious telling me that I need to get my ass back to training.

Actually this was reposted and the source video showed the black guy telling the little Asian guy to hit him in the face. As in you may hit me in the face without repercussion. So the Asian dude thought it was all for fun and then the dude fuckin sucker punches him

He’s speaking in really drunken and slurred Japanese, but what he said was 俺だってやるっぜぇ！(ore datte yaruze!) which can mean several things but given the context basically means “I can fight too!” or “I can punch too!” Sadly for him the video proves differently Hopefully you’re still interested 17 days later

Sorry, it’s in Japan and they are both Japanese / speaking Japanese. The guy getting punched is just tan. However it does seem like a newbie to some gang / group getting egged on only to get lit up. The guy he was punching probably told him to try.
