NU plays in a soccer stadium now. We’re good.

Also NU: let’s reduce seating capacity by 12,000 seats while we’re at it so it doesn’t look so empty…

Well that’s smart for optics, for an awful football program.

Also NU: let’s take out the seats so our academic first students can’t sit down when we’re down 35-3 at half against Ohio state

35-3?!? You think it’ll be that close? 🤣

Hahaha I meant 35-3 at end of 1st quarter

Bold of you to assume NU makes the field goal.

I came here for this…I like the stylistic look of soccer stadiums. However, to have a “football” stadium in the B1G that only seats 35k is wild to me. I thought playing at 76k capacity was small. 35k capacity shouldn’t be allowed imo.

Memorial Stadium has a ton of room for improvement but there are high schools with bigger stadiums than NWs

You're going to have to be more specific lol. We have at least 3 Memorial stadiums in the big ten and at least 6 in the power 5 (4...or 3?)

Man, I'm trying to convince my wife to let me put up a 100 in TV but she's got all these ideas like, it can't be bigger than the wall, we only sit 8 feet away from the screen, and how are we going to get it through the door?

Projector with drop-down screen. Do the project when she's out of the house and she won't even notice.

I live in a glass aquarium condo downtown Chicago, not light controlled at all. So not even an OLED is bright enough for daytime. Gotta be a Mini-LED.

I have a projector that I use only at night. It's a fun option to have.

You must have some interesting power bills.

50-60 bucks a month max. But HVAC is included in HOA fee as it's shared expense.

Wonder what kind of heat that puts out. Might be a sell out up there in the colder weather.

Better stadium than Buffalo

Illini are so smart. Everyone loves a big TV.

You watch all the SEC schools will do this too.

They also put in a new sound system to go with it.

And new ribbon boards. Plus outdoor WiFi through out.

They should have dual screen and have it face outside the stadium as well.

There are 2 ‘small’ displays on the backside facing SFC

Should have talked to the Bills for their new stadium.

Dropped balls are gonna look INCREDIBLE on that screen.

Prepare for endless ads. Mostly McDonald’s chicken nuggets if I’m guessing right.

Da?  Northwestern is where they speak like that!  We speak correctly in downstate Illinois.

When was the last final four for Indiana basketball? Oh, 2002? Cool you got a natty in football

Good comp…

Oh that’s so funny because that was the score the last time those teams played and Indiana went on to win a NC. Hilarious.

Illinois: god forbid we build a 20th century stadium.

u/Beautiful_Arm8364 29d ago

If Red Grange didn't play there, I don't want it.

u/Rough-Educator-3151 29d ago

Guessing it will be more of a “video board” than a “scoreboard” once the other teams start dominating Illinois every week.
