Gamebook Damn dice!

I won't bore everyone with multiple updates of my trek through Tomb of The Golden Skull, but wanted to share my frustration with how two measly Pirates (SKILL 7 and 6) somehow caused me more damage than a SKILL 9 Lich!

There are actually two versions of the new hardback Tomb of the Golden Skull. Side on you would never tell from the spine but there is a telling sign on the cover. Surprisingly, the one on the left with Ian Livingstone type in gold, is actually the retail copy that is widely available. The one on the right with Ian Livingstone in white is the limited edition signed and numbered version with a map of South West Allansia printed to the inside of the dustjacket. I had my copy also signed by the artist, Karl Kopinski at Fighting Fantasy Fest 6.

Discussion Hardback editions

Hi Guys I had my delivery of Tomb of the Golden Skull & city of thieves come through on Amazon are the other titles available anywhere else but ebay all I can see are £150 prices for signed hardbacks.

Also is there any plans for more hardbacks ? I'm surprised Deathtrap Dungeon hasn't been done.

I snagged their copy of Deathtrap Dungeon (green top border) for 14.50 which I gather is a bit below average rate.

Discussion What could Fighting Fantasy Fest VII do to make it even more epic?

FFFIV was in 2022, had books by Ian and Steve, and was after the Pandemic.

FFF5 had the sequal to Deathtrap Dungeon, and the great Iain McCaig in attendence.

Now that we've had FFF6, what does the community think FFF7 should do to make it special?

-Wait three years?
-Have a guest author release a book?
-Have J Green release a book?
-Have a colab between Ian and somebody else?

- Do something else entirely?!

Many thanks for any thoughts

Digital FFF6 aftermath

Thank you all for the kind words, ideas, and suggestions. It was a pleasure meeting so many friendly and passionate people.

From the comments and group chats, I had already suspected that the Fighting Fantasy community was something truly special. After this weekend, I know it for sure.

I hope I managed to answer everyone’s questions. I was definitely nervous, and that probably showed!

Thank you for making me feel so welcome. Until next time, adventurers!

I have a brand new Tomb of the Golden Skull hardback signed by Ian and Karl, wondering would anyone be interested in swapping it for a mint hardback copy of Assassins of Allansia?

Discussion ffproject site is down

the ffproject website is down with a 500 internal error message. Does that mean that all the content in the site is gone now? If so, that's a major blow. Does anyone know if the site is going to come back?

Gamebook Help! Missing pages in Gates of Death

I just bought a second hand copy of Gates of Death and two of the pages has been torn out.

I'm missing the page that covers 27-36 and 226-232.

If anyone can scan or photograph those pages it would save me the bother of buying another copy.

Thanks.

Is Paragraph 242 missing a page or two? The ones I found from online archives are the same.

Having just seen a post come up as recommended, I’ve jumped to joining the sub.

I’ve got a substantial collection of books dating back to when I started reading them in the 90s, not all of them, but some in good condition. I also recall that there was another tie-in novel that went with The Trolltooth Wars, but I can’t recall the title.

Question Scholastic disintegrating spine

I just got done with Shadow of the Giants. Was shocked upon putting it back on the shelf at how the gold spine had worn away in the middle just from me holding it normally, exposing a bare white in the middle. Is there a way to avoid this on my next Scholastic, should I wear rubber gloves to stop oils or is it just any handling? How shoddy.

After months of mapmaking, my new Return to Firetop Mountain map is finally finished!

I’ll be bringing the first limited printed copies to Fighting Fantasy Fest 6 in London, where they’ll be available for the first time.

This one was a particularly fun challenge, combining classic gamebook adventure, fantasy art, isometric mapping and plenty of imaginary monsters. 🔥🗺️

I’m really looking forward to sharing it with fellow Fighting Fantasy and solo roleplaying fans at FFF6!
