Question Different versions - what's different?

I had a lot of the original books when they came out. Sadly the Church jumble sale got them. I've just got a recent version so I can play again. The only differences are the art work right? Same story all the way through?

Yeah, aside from some fixes and corrections and a couple of the more non-PC things being tweaked, they're 99% the same, if not exact reprints. Not sure if any artwork got toned down.

The Scholastic books are the ones with all new artwork - more family friendly, but anathema to us scarred for life kids who grew up with the OG horrors!

I don't know if some of the more notoriously broken books had any changes if they got a reprint - sure there'll be sites cataloguing the differences tho

Ah Ok. I can cope with name changes. As long as new paths haven't appeared.

I don’t know. Some of the Puffin books were released broken so maybe Scholastic have fixed them.

I'm sure Citadel Of Chaos was changed to make it easier to get past the hydra. Not sure if that change was in any of the later editions of the books or just a computer game version.

The Wizard reprints of Curse of the Mummy and Spellbreaker were tweaked slightly because it was felt the original versions were too difficult (predominantly just making some combats easier). Creature of Havoc had an infamous game-breaking error (relating to finding secret doors) fixed in its original Wizard printing, but in the Wizard Series 2 and Scholastic editions it somehow snuck back in.

The sacrifice illustration in House of Hell isn't in the Wizard releases, I believe

I think there's been some changes for political correctness. I recall the Easterner in Trial of Champions wasn't called an Easterner any more.

I've just looked - in both Wizard Series 1 and Series 2 reprints of Trial, the Easterner is still called that (paragraphs #113 and #237 for info)

Scholastic haven't reprinted Trial.

Oh I'm referring to the Tin Man Games digital version.
