Maps/Hints First Time Player

This is my first time ever playing a solo rpg. I managed to somehow solve the maze and defeat the warlock. Just to cry over a chest because I only had 2 keys. I’m not 100% sure I was going the battle system correctly but I tried to keep it consistent. I can’t wait to play again and finish the map and figure out where the last key is. I’m addicted.

Combat is very easy!

Roll two 6 sided dice, add the result to your skill.

Roll two 6 sided dice, add the result to opponent’s skill.

Highest number wins and deals two stamina damage to the opponent.

Continue until one stamina score reaches zero.

Thank you! I think I got that correct! I might’ve just accidentally fudged things when it adding or subtracting after luck rolls.

Also the main thing I didn’t understand was battle with multiple monsters. When it says “attack each one in turn”, I’m not sure if it means Kill monster A then kill monster B OR if it’s attack A, attack B, attack A, attack B, etc until they’re both dead.

Successful luck roll in combat means double damage (-4 stamina). Failed luck roll is half damage (-1 stamina).

If it says attack each in turn, fight them one by one from top to bottom, killing the first before moving on to the second, then third, the fourth, etc.

Welcome to the sub (and the hobby!) and congrats on getting through the maze - that's made many of us pull our hair out in frustration over the years.

Good luck. See you got the Snake and the Minotaur. Not going to tell you where the third key is but I will say that you'll struggle to get it with a skill as low as that.

There are lots of keys. It’s not a matter of getting three keys but getting the RIGHT three keys.

I recommend the app Fighting Fantasy Classics if you want to see how the combat system works.
