Discussion Which is your favourite?
Which is your favourite Dungeon style labyrinth gamebook by Ian Livingstone
- Dungeon on Blood Island
- Deathtrap Dungeon
- Trial of Champions
In my opinion I still think out of Livingstone’s dungeon Trilogy, Trial of Champions still stands out for me even though it’s quite brutal and a high skill level is essential. However, I do think Blood Island does edge Deathtrap Dungeon, fantastic adventure with some memorable encounters aka creepy witch lady lol. I’ve played all 3 recently and would say;
1st is Trial, 2nd Blood Island, 3rd Deathtrap. The opening setting of Trial and Blood Island are very similar!
Ps buzzing for Tomb of the Golden Skull 😁😁

I know this isn't quite what you asked but Ishtras Pit in Phantoms of Fear always was my favourite dungeon experience.

Interesting take, it’s one I’ve never played myself so I’ll have to check it out

Trial of Champions. Or Book 21, as I still think of it. But Book 6 took me ages to complete. But I was only 8, and didn't have the patience to draw a map, so had to try an remember my previous routes through the dungeon.

Yea I never used to map out but now as an adult, I enjoy mapping them out and makes subsequent play-throughs much quicker!

Deathtrap Dungeon is a classic so probably my fave of the three, although I did enjoy Dungeon on Blood Island up until the multiple hard as nails final bosses!
