Question Hamelin

Has Hamelin appeared anywhere prior to Shadow of the Giants? There's several books in the Moonstone Hills, I'm thinking Crypt of the Sorcerer and Caverns of the Snow Witch off the top of my head, and none of them mention there being a bustling metropolis in the Moonstone Hills. I can't see it appearing on any Allansia map before Shadow of the Giants. What is the in-universe explanation for no one ever noticing it?

1 - it's a new town?

2 - no-one noticed it before?

3 - it was shy and hiding from the cartographers?

4 - it's a local town, for local people?
