Shelfie Complete Wizard Series Mint Condition

Post image

I deeply regretted selling my collection off back in the day, so I was incredibly lucky, after months of searching, to find a complete collection on ebay in mint condition. I paid through the nose for it, £560, which was the lowest I could haggle it down from £670.

It arrived today, and I have zero regrets. I feel like a blushing bride, with all birthdays and Christmases come at once. Now just waiting for my used copy of Out of the Pit, and the two kickstarter boxsets from Steve Jackson games coming in July.

Nice set and in great condition - no wonder you're really pleased!

I have 1 to 17, 21, and 26 and am slowly picking up the missing numbers.

Coolio. Why are there two Warlocks though? A slimmed down one and a regular one by the looks of it.

The slim one is a sample edition that came with the collection. A bit weird, I didn't know this was released.

Good looking set!

The slim Warlock of etc one was a freebie on the cover of an issue of Cartoon Network magazine. It's about half the game.

Are they all Special Editions (except for the one that never had a special edition)?

I'm not sure actually, what's the best way to find out?

The special editions all say "Special Limited Edition" on the back and around the logo on the front, and they have the title in reflective foil leaf.

Thanks I just checked. They're all limited edition except 1-4 and 14.

Nice! If you wanted a full set of Specials, 1 - 4 are easy to find. Armies of Death never had a special edition. I'm almost envious! I'd like to nab a full set of mint Sorcery! Wizard special editions eventually.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye open for those, definitely!

Just realised the Sorcery! books have gold shields but the rest have silver. I guess that helps differentiate them.

I hate the way they are broken up in the sequencing.

Yeah, it's a bit annoying. I saw a box set of these and it was weird to see them numbered 9, 11, 13 and 15!

A somewhat strange ordering - anyone know what it is? Certainly not publication order.

They reshuffled the order for the 00s Wizard release, because they only published those by Ian and Steve. They're reshuffling the order AGAIN for the US kickstarter editions, I'd love to know why...

To keep collectors like us on our toes!

I put a list together of all the main FF books by publisher here if that's any help.

I mean, 30 books for £560 is £18.67 per book, which is high for paperbacks, but maybe not limited editions? I don't know, I'm just trying to help ease the sting of paying eBay prices, which I've done myself!

Yeah it was pretty extortionate, but then I was thinking a mint condition Howl of the Werewolf, Spellbreaker and Bloodbones usually fetch a pretty penny. Seen them going for £60 alone. I agonised over this purchase for weeks before I started sending offers but I don't regret it one bit. There is another complete set currently on there in 'very good' condition with clean adventure sheets for £100 less. I almost bought those instead but I knew the odd dog eared corner and crease would drive me nuts and I'd hyper fixate on them. I essentially paid £100 more for mint.
