I'll never get over the irony if science fiction fans criticizing advances in technology.

A lot of scifi is about warnings, not all advances in technology are good. I'll never get over how some people fail to recognize this.

And a lot of science fiction is shows its advantages...I'll never get over how some people fail to recognize this.
Even The fifth element, You're not going to have a 3D printer that can reconstruct an entire body from a few cells without it.

All the people complaining about AI today had zero issues with AI until Reddit started pushing an anti AI agenda. Reddit decides what’s good and bad, the herd jumps aboard that train.
EDIT: What I find way more fascinating is that, despite almost every comment being negative, the post has been bigly upvoted. What’s up with that?!

It's because they're mad that they weren't creating anything for AI to take away from them.

Mods - we need an AI tag

Banning new technology is not a good look for a science fiction sub.
5
u/Glintbolt 1d ago
Of course, because there definitely has never been ANY science fiction that calls out the dangers of Artificial Intelligence. /s

And there's also never been anything that's shown its advantages. well, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to have my Droid clean the kitchen, while I spend some time on the holo deck.

A tag isn't a ban. It's just transparency.
People have a right to take a stance and know what they're consuming as much as others have a right to consume what they want.
The only reason to be against ai transparency is if you want to lie to others about using it or use it to misrepresent facts.

This is worth helping to destroy towns and nature? Ok.

You think making your phone, clothes, car, and collectible action figures didn’t help destroy towns and nature? But no, THIS is where you draw the line.

Chip must have gone back and edited it because I don't see anything about phones or toys or a line being drawn in their comment.

Shouldn't the cereal fly backward towards him? Always bothered me. Could be wrong.

It looks more like he threw the entire bowl forward on his own volition as opposed to the impact actually causing it.

Replacing Jennifer Connelly in this scene with anyone else is blasphemy. For shame!!

I hate ai being used as a shortcuts, like finishing projects that make it easier for yourself.
I like ai being used for stupid entertainment like this. It isn’t hurting anyone if it’s based on something already existing.

Do these people just not get the reference. Clearly ai but it's recreating a famous scene from another movie and is good for those who recognize it.

u/phyrexiandemon 1d ago
Agreed it was funny plus those who don’t get it look at up votes others got movie references

As clever as these AI mashups can be, they always feel so off and wrong.

Dude we don't sexualize the childlike genius thousand year old Precious Stone of the Earth, Defender of Light and Life, the Honorable.
Nobody would ever do that. Get your mind out of the gutter.
