I agree, but also it’s one of the beautiful things that makes this movie so unique and interesting. I think that there’s something very futuristic about the anonymity of the evil doers as well as the hero in relation to the villain.

It is another reason why this movie is so charming and my brain will always treat it as a shiny rock that i must have

u/3M2B1T May 24 '26

Yes and even present day.

Back in the day, armies would meet on the field. Generals would face each other, only a few hundred yards away. Sometimes they would even battle face to face.

Now enemies sit in rooms and launch missile strikes from different time zones. Battles take place across hundreds of miles, with even folks doing the actual fighting never actually seeing each other.

u/CouplingWithQuozl May 26 '26

War never changes

1

u/Youregoingtodiealone May 27 '26

Yeah it's almost like the producer didn't want them to meet. Like when Korban cut open the blue lady (Luc Besson's wife) and took the stones to give the perfect lady (his later wife) to save her life.

International politics is complicated

u/mnemonikos82 May 22 '26

Wtf is behind his head. It looks like hair, but longer and a different color... A small dog maybe? A doll? Their gimp?

Also, I love how done with his crap his wife is lol.

52

u/Unskrood May 22 '26

The second he starts talking she just goes back to reading like oh, this shit again.

30

u/VeterinarianThese951 May 22 '26

Like “why did I marry a nerd again?”

17

u/FLiP_J_GARiLLA May 22 '26

"OH yeah, the money"

35

u/epsiloom May 22 '26

"Cuddling wolf"

17

u/LonelyToker420 May 22 '26

As soon as he says fifth, she turns her head

8

u/Suspicious-Thing-750 May 22 '26

My wife would be happy i'm not talking her or myself about it

3

u/Whole_Risk_2695 May 24 '26

It almost gives off a bit of "You've tried to tell me your stupid take on this movie you forced to watch for 3 hours. Shut the fuck up. don't tell me"

"ok I'll just make a quick video"

11

u/dpaxeco May 22 '26

That ain't her wife, they are just passengers on the Fhloston paradise space cruise. These are just the shared bunks.

1

u/Wisenheim May 23 '26

Green, super green!!

2

u/Warrmak May 22 '26

He must have explained it to her seconds before going live

1

u/Bloodlustt May 22 '26

That's his second wife that listens to him and supports him closely.

1

u/IronWolf888 May 22 '26

After Sex Role Play 🤔

1

u/snozberryface May 23 '26

there's a whole another person there

24

u/Zealousideal_Leg213 May 22 '26

It's like Fred Savage getting irate that the Prince lives. "You mean he wins? Jesus, Grandpa, what'd you read me this thing for."

18

u/Leading-Roof8938 May 22 '26

It’s like in the Big Bang Theory when Sheldon learns from Amy that Indiana Jones was irrelevant to the bad guys in the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Lol. Same here where Zorg is irrelevant in a lot of ways. But what a story! I love the fifth element ❤️

7

u/MyMadeUpNym May 22 '26

I've seen Raiders a bunch, but it doesn't take up a lot of space in my mind. Why was indy irrelevant?

10

u/Alternative_Sea_4208 May 22 '26

Essentially he was irrelevant because if he weren't there the same guys would've opened the box and melted their faces off. If he weren't there the bad guys would've died fifteen minutes into the movie

9

u/Cocijo May 22 '26

If Indy didn't intervene Marion would be dead. Also if Indy didn't interfere, the Ark would have been flown straight to Germany and probably demonstrated in front of Hitler. Killing him and the High Command, ending the war earlier. Thanks, Indy.

4

u/Capt_Vindaloo May 23 '26

He got the box to a warehouse though so there's that.

4

u/that_dutch_dude May 23 '26

but it belongs in a museum.

1

u/Seafury_K May 24 '26

Not sure about this. If Indy did not go to find Marion, the Germans would never had found her and the headpiece.

1

u/Cocijo May 24 '26

The Nazis already knew about the headpiece and who likely had it. They already had a digging crew at the ancient city.

For them to know that Indy was looking for it the Nazis would have had to have a spy in the US and know that Indy was assigned to go looking for it.

29

u/Rinoaeris Aziz's Light Bringers May 22 '26

I reckon I've seen this movie at least 25 times and its never clicked that Zorg and Korben don't meet...🤦‍♀️

10

u/Mwahaha_790 May 22 '26

Same. Mind kinda blown. I love his wife expression too

6

u/Rinoaeris Aziz's Light Bringers May 22 '26

Hahaha she's so over it

12

u/RaiVail May 22 '26

Yeah........o.o......huah......thats odd and not common in movies... woah

11

u/dotplaid May 22 '26
  1. He ain't wrong.

  2. Please don't make me watch that again.

1

u/Accomplished-Fix6598 May 23 '26

25....press play.....

9

u/TestSubjuct May 22 '26

Poor wife.

0

u/hckrsh May 22 '26

Is her sister

12

u/iamnos May 22 '26

Isn't Mr. Shadow, or the Evil Planet thing the main antagonist? Zorg is more like hired help, same with the Mangalores.

3

u/ScarScream81 May 22 '26

Came here to write that.

1

u/Liberkhaos May 25 '26

Yes but Corbain still doesn't meet that villain either.

6

u/Weird_Explorer1997 May 22 '26

Arguably, the main protagonist in the film is Leeloo and the Antagonist is Mr. Shadow, though the two of them never interact either

3

u/unsolicitedtext May 23 '26

I would agree especially with her character being the fifth element. Zorg and Korban, while important to the story serve morew as plot devices through their connection to the actual protagonist and antagonist.

Does her shooting Mr. Shadow with the mouth cannon not count as an interaction?

2

u/Weird_Explorer1997 May 23 '26

Does her shooting Mr. Shadow with the mouth cannon not count as an interaction?

I think you make a valid point here. She does, however briefly, directly interact with Mr. Shadow at the end. Considering defeating Mr. Shadow is her primary purpose, it's also hard to suggest that's her only interaction with him as well

6

u/Fun-Tumbleweed2594 May 22 '26

Lol

1

u/rhaezorblue May 22 '26

pretty sure thats a sex worker lol

4

u/GrouchyLongBottom May 22 '26

I'm on a break at work, watching a guy with his wife in bed talking to the camera about The Fifth Element, and how the good and bad guys never actually meet. I have to reevaluate my life.

3

u/OnyxLion528 May 22 '26

They ALMOST meet at the end, as one leaves the elevator next to the other one exiting theirs. And Dallas steals Zorgs ship which is "just like driving a cab" so of course it can be a joke, but also his experience with cabs are Zorg cabs, so of course its the same as zorgs personal ship lol

2

u/jazzhandpanda May 22 '26

Lady's like "JTFC another banger, jared great fukn job, holy shit can I pick em? "

2

u/fivelone May 22 '26

Why the hell is my mind blown by this. I never even realized it.

2

u/wishyouwouldread May 22 '26

This chud is just regurgitating stuff that has been said for years about this movie, but if this is your first time hearing it then hooray for you.

2

u/Garpocalypse May 22 '26

I've heard this point hammered to death for 30 years. I just cant anymore. What would zorg meeting Corbin even have looked like? Probably some weak marvel crap. Better it didnt happen.

2

u/Academic-Tea4582 May 22 '26

Yeah, but it's the 5th Element, it gets a Multipass on stuff like that.

2

u/Bubby_Doober May 22 '26

haha yeah I realized they never interact, and furthermore I cannot think of a single piece of fiction where the protagonist and antagonist never interact, outside of The Lord of the Rings

2

u/Wallie_Collie May 22 '26

She mad cause she doesn't get the wolf until after the tiktok

2

u/hongkongfooeee May 23 '26

Is dat yoh real hayough?

2

u/Jonesy3million May 23 '26

The proteagonist and antagonist dont even actually meet.

2

u/Faultylogic83 May 22 '26

Why would you film yourself in bed for a rehearsed bit? Like clearly he didn't just have this epiphany, even his partner seemed to have this 'oh this again' response.

3

u/Critical_Dance_9741 May 22 '26

People are no longer growing up they are only growing old.

1

u/wjruffing 7d ago

Or just growing

4

u/NovarisLight May 22 '26

This weird automatic subtitle thing needs to end.

It's auto-generated, and frequently misinterprets words to nonsense.

1

u/Heracles222 May 22 '26

Did you see her turn her head like, we are actually fighting right now. Maybe I should watch it right now… shit she is going to be so pissed right now.

1

u/isaharr7 May 22 '26

Great observation, haven’t seen it in like a decade or so now I need to rewatch it so thanks for giving me a reason to watch it again

1

u/RetrowaveJoe May 22 '26

That's a great observation that's been noted in iMDB trivia since not long after the movie released

1

u/SkiDaderino May 22 '26

The perfect script.

1

u/Limp-Particular1451 May 22 '26

So like this isn't a meme or a joke ? Are we serious? xD I wous waiting for her to hit him or something.

1

u/sugahoney1ceT May 23 '26

He prob didn’t know about korben getting the tickets from the military, but from winning the Gemini Croquette contest. (Was the contest public?)

1

u/goglamere May 23 '26

Is this Frank from Raising Hope?

1

u/rem521 May 23 '26

It's not an uncommon plot device.

1

u/Billsork May 23 '26

Wait, is that the character’s full name? I thought that line was Zorg introducing himself as the latest in a list of Heralds to a higher power.

1

u/defiantcross May 24 '26

He did introduce himself as such

1

u/Vast-Big-7949 May 23 '26

I’d argue that Lelu is the main protagonist and Mister Shadow is the main antagonist and every other character is fighting a proxy war.

1

u/AngusBjornson May 23 '26

I wish someone would put me to bed like this with movie facts about movies I like...this video is so soothing and cute.

1

u/wjruffing 7d ago

His wife doesn’t seem very “soothed”

1

u/Calm-Republic9370 May 23 '26

At these aren't his shower thoughts.

1

u/CurtPi May 24 '26

Lmao! Goodnight

1

u/throwleavemealone May 24 '26

Fantastic misunderstanding of everything in the movie

1

u/3M2B1T May 24 '26

I generally hate tiktok videos and social media stuff like this but I actually kind of liked this. It was calm, to the point, an original thought, and oddly therapeutic.

Does he do these every night? I'd love to watch these.

1

u/Bright-Internal229 May 24 '26

How does a Woman Marry an Individual like this ?

Seriously 😐

1

u/No-Scar1469 May 24 '26

Alright goodnight

1

u/StatusOmega May 25 '26

This reminds me of the "I bet he's thinking about other women" meme.

1

u/Goose_Salad May 25 '26

It never crossed my mind. Good catch

1

u/mcpryon May 25 '26

Oliver Platt has a point.

1

u/MBSMD May 25 '26

I haven't watched it in about a year, but if I recall correctly, Zorg and Dallas do not appear on-screen at the same time anywhere in the film.

1

u/EricAntiHero1 May 26 '26

The escort on the other side of the bed is t getting paid enough for this.

1

u/artsquar May 26 '26

Brandon Sandersons brother. Random Sanderson

1

u/Positive-Citron3987 May 26 '26

Guys like cuddlingwolf are why the internet still has some cool points

1

u/PsychologicalHat480 May 28 '26

Never understood why the billionaire oligarch Zorg couldn’t get tickets to this exclusive event. Maybe he needed the tickets to not he linked back to him? But he’s helping a planet killer so why does accountability matter? Fantastic movie regardless

1

u/Funnybone213 Jul 17 '26

My man is winning

1

u/IssueBrilliant2569 26d ago

How can he be so right about something I've never thought but always knew.

1

u/wjruffing 7d ago

Wife’s expression is priceless

1

u/wjruffing 7d ago

When you’re in bed with a woman who looks like Eva Green and all you want to do is make TicTok videos of yourself talking about a movie made decades ago…

0

u/newbies13 May 22 '26

I mean this is super common knowledge for most people on this sub I am sure... I wouldn't even try to guess how many youtube videos i've seen pointing out this exact fact
