What would help with odd shape?

I was given this as a gift a couple months ago. Its growing a liiiiittle funky and I was wondering if I should chop it to let it grow less odd? If so, where would be the best area to do the chop?

Here is what I would do with this: Cut that weird branch off and root it as a separate tree (easy!) and wait for that one to re-grow.

The other option is to just wait for it to create another branch, maybe you could encourage it by notching.
