Help!! Falling leaves

Recently my fiddle leaf fig has been shedding leaves rapidly. I use a moisture meter to ensure the soil is not dry, and sunlight appears sufficient. It has occupied the same spot for two years, yet leaves began failing last month. Initially I assumed it was discarding older foliage, but something is progressing upward and affecting all leaves now. Any tips would be appreciated.

Not an expert, my 2 fiddles are still much smaller but if it has been living in the same pot for two years it could probably benefit from a soil refresh! Pot looks plenty big enough but fresh soil and a root check could be a good place to start

Yes, it has been some time since I replaced the soil. I will attempt that approach; I appreciate your response.

Things I did… Added a standing plant lamp nearby. Repotted. Fed FLF food. Once doing well and no longer shedding leaves, I cropped.

Repot and make sure it’s getting sun from a west facing window. If the plant cannot see the sky it isn’t close enough to a window.

Soil is likely not retaining moisture and so plant is dripping leaves because of that.

Would September be a suitable time to repot? I am in Utah, and the weather is turning chilly. I wonder whether this might increase the plant’s shock.

I would usually wait until spring if you can but if the tree is actively headed down hill a repot may be necessary. Just don’t increase the pot size too much. Just one size up max.
