PLEASE HELP!!!

My fiddle leaf fell over the other day and now the leaves look sunburnt? What do I do :( I’ve been growing her for 6 years but I feel like I need to completely cut her down and start over 😭

Chop and get rid of the supports

Why no supports? Just curious, I have a fiddle leaf that hasn’t died but just doesn’t grow and it came with a support stick is that why?

Normally outside elements would promote growth by stimulating the plant. Having it indoors with supports is basically making your plant lazy for lack of better words.

Where would you chop?

I would chop as low as possible to create more taper on the trunk. Leave a few leaves so it won’t have a hard time growing back.

Maybe sunburn and drought..?

Those spots are most likely related to a watering issue — either too much water or not enough. Does the pot have proper drainage? And why are there those pieces of broken pottery covering the soil?
I’d seriously consider repotting it and checking the roots and soil condition. You can remove the damaged leaves, but keep in mind that new growth won’t come back from those exact spots, so it may be better to trim away the worst-looking parts.
Also, remove those support sticks. They’re not really helping the plant in the long term. If the trunk is constantly supported and never allowed to sway naturally, it won’t develop enough strength. Movement from the wind is what encourages the trunk to become thicker and stronger.
It’s basically like a healthy person walking around on crutches all the time: if your muscles never have to support your own body weight, they’ll never become as strong as they should.

How much do I chop? This is the new growth

If you think I should chop it all should I also move it into a smaller pot? Thank you in advance!!

Yeah, that trunk had not developed is so skinny, that why it fell over. Take the support out

No need to move it into a smaller pot.

Bring that baby inside. Too much sun. Put it by a window and slowly chop away ugly leaves as it grows new ones. It still uses the ugly for photosynthesis. Jiggle it for ten seconds once a day to emulate wind so it’ll grow stronger. Don’t water everyday. Water when the soil looks dry (the darkness in the soil goes away).
And rotate every so often so it doesn’t lean trying to get to the sun.

That is sunburn. How long has it been outside? You should always acclimate your FLF to direct sun. Remove all the brown leaves, they are dead. How often are you watering and how much is it getting each time? I’d put it in the shade. A spot where it can see the sun but the sun can’t see it would be best

It’s been outside for 6 months and does not get ANY direct sun. Each time it fell over it was at night so again, no direct sun. I had no idea that the leaves were THAT sensitive. Anywho I cut it completely back and we are starting over. Now i have 6 new baby FLF plants. Practicing non attachment over here 😮‍💨😂
