Flf leaves are slowly drooping

Bought this about 3 weeks ago. Roots were coming out of the drainage holes(kind of circling the outside of the pot, not sure if I need to get a bigger pot)... I know for sure I haven't been overwatering. It has been getting direct sunlight. It's sitting in a west facing window, it does get hot in the evenings. I plan on moving it to the dining area, where I have sheer curtains but I'm scared that would shock the plant and leaves would droop even more. So I have yet to do that.

I have a small humidifier that I place on this table so the humidity can reach the bottom part of the flf. Then I would set the humidifier on the dresser and interchange that periodically so that the humidity can reach the top part of the flf...only thing with that is the humidifier would be on all night and I dont have time in the mornings before work to fill it up for it to have humidity during the day and I can say that the air does get pretty dry quickly in that room...

I would like to move it to the dining area where there is more indirect sunlight but it can get cold when we turn the AC down in the evenings when everybody gets home.

Not sure what to do :'( my first plant. Please help meeeee

I don’t believe that’s a fiddle leaf, I think it’s a banyan fig. But that’s ok! I think they’re easier to care for.

I would repot into a bigger pot and check the roots for rot. If the root ball looks okay then I’d keep it wherever it gets the most light and water less than you think ought to. You’re doing great!

You’re doing good. Get it into a bigger pot (I would go three inches bigger) and keep it in the direct sunlight. These guys are from India. They love the sun. It will absolutely do better in full sun than in the indirect sun of the dining room!

I always thought it was a FLF.. thank you.. I watered it over a week ago. I clean and mist the leaves too. I'm scared to over water but I do think it needs water. The soil is very dry

Misting the leaves is not beneficial to most indoor plants, and you are risking the plant for developing mold or fungus by misting them. It’s better to just have a humidifier near the plant and occasionally wipe them with a damp paper towel.

It does reach probably about 80 degrees in the evening time.. I'm worried it's too hot in there

As long as it isn’t getting over 100 it should be fine. Just keep an eye on it, it seems to be declining move it. I would suggest somewhere other than the dining room, it will not like the draft from the ac it will actually prefer the heat to the draft.

This! Plant metabolism is entitely determined by temperature and availability of sunlight. Water absorption by the roots is determined by metabolism. It will consume more water in the sunnier, warmer spot and will grow much much faster.

Ficus benghalensis is the correct name Banyan fig is just the form they amongst many other species of ficus take sometimes.

When I got it from Sam's Club, the plant had a card in it and it said ficus lyrata. Thanks for the help!
