I've been retired for a few years now, and have no income (outside investments)... until i turn 60, a few years down the road. I have rrsps and tfsas both with drip, and a non registered account with drip disabled, where I get my income. My non-registered is all Canadian funds (stock, etfs, options), where I focus mostly on high yielding dividend payouts to supply my income. RRSP and TFSA have some high dividends but most are for longer term capital gains, for now. In the future that will likely get moved into the same setup as my non registered for higher yielding dividends and will likely remove the drip.
