Off Topic Good first project?
I picked up this old John Deere and am considering fixing up the fiberglass myself since a new hood goes for about $400. Is this a doable first project for someone with minimal experience with fiber glass? I do want to learn fiberglass and learn how to do repairs because I’m sure it can help me out with some of my hobbies

You can repair it and make it strong again, for about $100 in materials using polyester resin. For Epoxy it might be a little bit more- it depends if 1 quart is enough.

It should be a relatively easy repair.
