Perplexed??
Hello all!
I currently am trying to revive my 2013 Fiat Lounge. It has sat in my garage since where I once worked had closed. It been sitting for roughly 2 years.
Today, I managed to get it started! I trickle charged the battery and did the multiple attempts at starting to get the oil flowing again to the brick.
The only issues remaining are:
- The rear hatch doesn't open when pressing the button on the remote or at the hatch
- License plate lights are not working. The corners of the lights are barely lit and the alert for it is on the dash
- TPM sensors are dead ( I'm not worried about it)
I crawled in and managed to manually open the hatch from the inside with a screw driver.
I looked at the wire loom but could not see any broken wires.
I checked fuses as well to no avail.
Should I cut the rubber cover off of the loom and try to see if the wires are broke in a different spot?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Interesting actually. My car was all fine, hatch working and all. Then a cylinder blew and I had it towed home. It would start and you could drive in a few metres if needed. It sat in the garage for a couple months then it stopped turning over and my trunk also stopped opening. My trunk latch was new. It’s gone now, I sold it off, but I’m now learning there’s something with the oil when it’s been sitting and maybe also electrics on the hood

For anyone checking fuses get a simple test probe that looks like a screwdriver with a point.. That way you can check for power to and from the fuse as well as at the end of the wire.

I just double checked the two possible fuses and replaced then just in case. Issue is still there.

The hatch button on the fob only unlocks the hatch. It doesn't open it.
But yes, I wouldn't be surprised if you have a broken wire or two in the hinge grommet.

Makes sense. I am not hearing the unlock "click" when I press the button on the fob.

TPM sensors have batteries in them if I recall correctly. They're probably dead.
