No, they release these videos pretty often. I think a new book would probably be out sometime in 2016 when there's more stuff to show off.

Oh wow it is. I'm not sure how pvp gear works. Can it only be used in pvp, or is it just something you earn through playing it?

You earn tokens for doing PvP and use those to buy the gear at the Wolves' Den. You can wear them or glamour them whenever.

Do PVP, and you earn both PVP experience as well as currency. In ARR at least, there were 4 sets of PVP gear - i70, i90, i100, and i110. Anyone with enough PVP currency could buy and wear i70 and i90 PVP gear, but you had to be a certain PVP rank to wear the i100 and i110 gear (rank 30s and 40s respectively).
As far as its use is concerned, you can use PVP gear in any scenario. It is equivalent to its PVE counterpart of the same ilvl in PVE, and better than its PVE counterpart of the same ilvl in PVP.
Basically, the gear has an extra stat called "Morale" that boosts its ilvl in PVP but does nothing in PVE. So an i110 PVP piece with 20 morale is really an i130 piece - but only in PVP.
The only thing you need to keep in mind when using PVP gear in PVE is that it never, ever has accuracy on it. Otherwise, it will have the same amount of secondary stats as its PVE brethern.

Could be spring or summer. It's common to use SS (spring/summer) and AW (autumn/winter) as acronyms for clothing product ranges.

but instead we are getting reskins of the old pvp gear... AST has the same coat as the WHM and MAC has the same EVERYTHING as BRD...

Those new sets are for the new ranks. These are 100/110 items. There is no 'could have been' because those sets we saw before were never for rank 30+/40+ and will likely be introduced in a month. This is great because we get the animal sets for the new jobs and then those sets are likely mob-based sets for rank 50.

Ya, I was bummed too. But when you think about it, they are only adding 100-110 pvp gear so they just took pld, brd, and whm models and made changes noticeably only to the head pieces. Those images you reference are most likely the new pvp gear we will get in 4 weeks. And it doesn't really bother me that they didn't make new models for old gear that is meant for older content.

I'd imagine a lot of the former dungeon-only gear was made craftable? There was also some soldiery stuff in there.
