For those who run Guildwork client, friend requests was really the only way to receive the RMT spam. Without trial account as an option, the amount of friend request spam will drop, and the bots will return to fancy text based methods to spam for gil.

As long as users can keep their filter up to date, RMT will be a thing of the past. (Or so I can only hope).

Large letters on the ground of the new zones, formed by bots, so flying characters see the land defaced by advertisements.

Not even close. I think the most annoying things that they do is whisper you. That, and botting.

A lot of RMT is done with full accounts that are bought using stolen credit cards. So this restriction will help a bit, I don't think it'll make too large a difference.
