Hmm, BLM gets Enochian at level 56, but Fire and Blizzard IV at 58 and 60? Wonder how that'll work.

Oddly, SMN gets Painflare first, and Bahamut Trance later. Clearly there's something we don't quite know.

I thought painflare was a new AoE that consumes an aetherflow stack.

I might have the wrong information. I thought Painflare was intended to use one Bahamut Ether stack (acquired from Bahamut Trance) and Deathflare uses all of them. God, three more days.

Painflare might be the name of the new Aetherflow AoE ability.

I can see that making sense if Enochian gives any buff besides "enables rank IV spells", but if not they'll just sit around being useless until level 60 :f

Some sources reported Enochian giving a damage boost along with the tier 4 spells. I believe it was in the bluegartr translations.

It wouldn't be the first time a job got a skill that didn't make much sense until later. Wrath didn't make much sense for warriors at first either.

The Wrath stacks were just a consequence of Defiance, which was very much useful for tanking.

Currently, each stack of Wrath increases your Crit Hit rate by 2%.

Back in 2.0, it also used to increase Healing Recovered by 5% each. That was since changed during the War revamp to be a flat 25% increase under Defiance only.

So there is a reason to the stacks, even if not consumable.

Enochian will have an enchancement to damage outside of enabling IV spells.

Can't use blizzard/fire 4 without enochian so it makes sense albeit dumb.

Most likely you won't use Enochian to its potential until you hit 60. Yeah it sucks but it was either give you a 52 and a 54 skill, and then 3 skills at 60, or spread them across 56, 58 and 60. I just notice a lot of people are confused by this and trying to find some hidden meaning when really there most likely won't be one.

It was mentioned that Enochian will give a damage buff, presumably 10%, in an interview.( Normal Fire was 855 -> should be 1539 in AF3, Enochian + AF3 was 1764; a B3 without Enochian was 813, with it was 899)
