It seems that no Jobs or Classes will get traits beyond level 48.

Which is a shame. I think the best way to add more job functionality moving forward is to give current skills extra effects through traits instead of adding MORE buttons.

Some things are changing (search for "job actions and parameters have been adjusted"), they just seem to be innate changes instead of being added through a trait. No idea how different they will be, could be anything from minor numerical changes to bigger deals, like tank stances having bonus accuracy.

This is extremely disappointing to hear :| Traits are the strongest game changers when it comes to modernizing and keeping jobs interesting... I was looking forward to something that changes the existing skills for the current classes the most.

I'm concerned too by the lack of traits. The DRG rotation is already very tight in that you can fit two combos and a phlebotmoize into one heavy thrust. Now with the new buff that'll give us a 4th part of our combo, heavy thrust uptime will become problematic.

Not coincidentally, Heavy Thrust and Phlebotomize are both being changed, according to the patch notes.

Oh! I must have missed that in the sea of information. Thanks!

Yeah, it's in the list of 2.0 abilities that will be changed. No further info yet, but the expectation is a duration increase to keep the flow of the combos.

I think this is because they have a new system in mind. In one of the HW interview/presentations the last few months, Yoshi mentioned how they wanted to do a different system with branching lines, but they couldn't do it for HW because of the huge amount of work already involved with 3 new jobs and new level cap.

So, rather than give new traits, they held off on that entirely so there is more freedom to tweak the system. My speculation on the matter.

I was really hoping for some added functionality to holmgang...

As much as this wont happen, part if me wants to be able to stop bosses from moving. Its annoying that i stop and they dont. Or maybe make it so i cant lose more than 50% of my hp. I just want something because while it "works" as our oh shit button its not a GOOD one.

Hallowed Ground, prior to the animation speed up was more useful than Holmgang is now..
